So I started to read through the 55 pages of this thread, trying to find an answer for my question. I think I got to the 6th page before saying screw it.

I'm about to order the Gram Lights 57 Optimise.

Size: 18 x 8.5 5x114.3 (front)

Available offsets are +33 and +43

Size: 18 x 9.5 5x114.3 (rear)

Available offsets are +12, +22, +38

Which offsets will work?

Can I also get a suggestion on tire sizes. I'd like the rear end to sit as flush as possible with no need to roll fenders and on the front, I will be installing a Racing Brake kit, so I need to make sure the clearances are good.

BTW, coil overs are being ordered at the same time as well, so there will be some adjustablity in the ride height, if you could keep that in mind when suggesting sizes.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Just read it. Thanks, was exactly what I was looking for.

Except for the Brake kit...will I have any issues with either of the front offsets?

In the front both sizes will be fine, in the rear if you decided to go 275 you'll need a roll and a pull, might need more work if you are running +12.

A good size is 255 all around. 38 would be the lowest offset without needing to roll. You should be able to clear the calipers, but no way to find out till you get them.

Yes and you could even go wider on the tires.

255 all around would be the best, and yes bigger tire will slow the car down.

If you look back 3 posts, someone asked basically the same thing (the +35 from opane is actually 5 mm farther out so it is more aggressive even). Get 245/35 or 255/35 for the front and 255/35 265/30 or 275/30 for the rear.

I was looking at the Volks in the FS forums. I assume those wheels weren't originally from an rx8. So how would the offsets work?

Front: 19x8.5 +29
Rear: 19x9.5 +48

Can you recommend and tire sizes? I wanted to try a 265 or 275 in the rear and since the front is so aggressive, maybe a 245 or a 235 if it will work also. Do you foresee any issues?

Ok I don't have my glasses handy so I was unable to find if someone had already posted this set up...

Buddy Club P1 Racing Wheels

Front: 19x8.5 +38
Rear: 19x9.5 +38

I was curious to see what kind of tire sizes you all would suggest since I am no good with this kind of stuff. I want a nice flush look so nothing to wide for tires if at all possible.

Thanks for helpin my sorry butt out!

If you run the rear setup all around it'll look a lot better. You can run up to 275 all around, if u run 9.5" alla round

OK so use 19x9.5 +38 for all 4 wheels, but 275 wouldn't that look kinda thick? I want a nice clean look nothing to bulky would like 260/30 look better?

Also what if I went with this set up

Axis Wheels Shine

Front 19x8.5 5x114.3 +35 or +45
Back 19x9.5 5x114.3 +40

What set do you guys think would look better?

Again im really sorry if I am not being very helpful here when I said thick I meant the sidewall being to big so when you look at the wheel and tires they go hand in hand. Yes I did mean 265/30

What set do you think would look better in your guys opinion? I like the look of those Axis Shine they flow very nicely the buddy club would be awesome track wheels as well.

If running staggered setup, for those who are confused of dont understand...

For the front, any 8.5 width wheel with +25 offset or lower running on 255 will rub unless fenders are rolled. Based on my knowledge 245 width tires and under will not rub without fender roll.

For the rear, any 9.5 width wheel with +35 offset or lower running on 275 width tires will rub unless fenders are rolled. Base on my knowledge, 255 width tires and under with this setup should be fine without needing to roll the fenders.

Solution for the rubbing problems without rolling fenders are to either run on narrower tires or higher offset.

Hope this helps

So going off what you said then this should work out correctly...

Wheels
Front 19x8.5 5x114.3+45
Back 19x9.5 5x114.3 +40

Tires
Front 245/30
Rear 265/30

Would the rear need a little work?
