Any fender mods needed?

 

Should be fine. Those tires are pretty wide for the stated size I think but I don't see a problem.

 

I need to see pics of this. It sounds awesome.

Hey guys. I just rolled my fenders and I have two questions. I'm running a 18x9.5 +27 wheel with a 255/35 tire will I need to do any other mods lowering it? And should I be ok with springs or just get coilovers? I only plan I drop maybe two or so inches.

 

You'll be safe with that set up.

 

You won't get two inches without coils and you may need to do some trimming at that point.

I'm having a hard time deciding if it's worth going with 19s and a mandatory drop over just sticking with 18s.

19x8.5 +35 with 245/35 tires?
18x9 +35 with 245/40 tires?

I love the look of a lowered 19" setup. Guessing 19x9.5 +43 is asking for trouble? These are based on the Konig Torch.

 

You will be okay with those sizes in a +35 offset, if you choose the +43 your wheels will be super tucked almost like the stock wheels. Remember, the higher the number of the offset, the closer the wheels will be inside the car. The lower the number of the offset, the further away it will be from the car. Check the link J8635621 in his sig,.

 

The 9.5 +43 would be less tucked than the 8.5 +35

 

OK, just a quick update. The 245/40/18's rubbed just a bit in the rear even after a fender roll, so I put them on the front and put the 235/40/18's in the rear - no more rubbing in the rear, and the slight bit of extra tire height in the front reduces the wheel-to-fender gap even more, without rubbing. I'll roll on this setup for awhile.

 

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are wide for their size, so I would tend to believe what J said.

 

Worst case roll the fenders.

Don't want to make a new post for a fairly simple question but I can't find it answered anywhere on the forums. I just went to a more aggressive +33 offset wheel with 245/45/18. Problem is now im tearing up my fender liners pretty well. I'm on stance coilovers and lowered. I'd rather now change the spring rates.

My question is would removing the fender liners in the wheel wells effect anything? My undertray is already MIA and the rear fender liners are whats eatin sh*t. How are these "Hellaflush" people gettin so low? Would it be safe to remove the liners?

 

Your tires are too tall (254/40/18 is what you needed). By rear fender liners I assume you mean the back piece of the fender liner for the front wheel. There is a metal ridge immediately behind them. It won't do much to remove them. Not a big problem without them and it won't help your problem most likely.

Note: +33 offset means pretty much nothing without wheel width.

 

8.75 +33 offset, I used the stock rims and the same tire size and had no problem at this height. Now i switched to 8.75 +33 and have problems.

 

and by fender liner i mean the plastic crap that is in the wheel wells. I understand that there is a metal ridge where the plastic meets the frame, and has those annoying a** plastic screw things. but if I took out the plastic and rolled the fender where the clamps grab would that effect anything?

 

You need a shorter tire. A 245/45 is an inch taller than the stock size and you moved it an inch outward. You're making a lot of work for yourself by what I'm guessing is getting tires on the cheap.

 

Eagle gts aren't exactly a cheap tire

 

Are you rubbing on the outer lip of the tire or the inside? Take off the fender liner and shave the tabs, you can adjust the camber to get those wheels tucked. But, you'll wear them quicker since they're directional-asymetric tires.

 

im thinking about getting 18x9.5 +40 with 245/40/18 or should i just get 18x8.5 +35 with the same tires. i already have the tires but im just not sure if it would fit well on the 9.5
