Oh really? 275/30/20 is the same diameter as 225/45/18?

It should be 1/2" taller. 225/45/18 is too tall even. Either way stock height and lower offset wheels don't go together.

+45 offset is better unless you are very, very low

Yeah I did the math too. The 275/30/20 is .523 inches taller than the factory 215/45/18.
Given variations by manufacturer and style of tire.
I think that Yokohama messed up though because their 275/30zr20 is the exact same diameter, and if anything, 1 to 2 mm smaller. I'll post a pic or two. Weird. But good though right?

Anyone else here running 20x10 +30 in back?

I should add that I've chosen to go with coilovers. I don't think lowering springs will go low enough to eliminate the gap.

So 20x10 +30 with rolled fenders lowered on coilovers and 1 to 2 degrees of negative camber -- will it fit? Any knowledgeable opinions are appreciated.

It will take a lot of fender work to get that tire size in there. On the other hand, the sidewall on a 20 will need to be very short so stretching a narrower tire won't really get you anywhere either. Muchos camber and fender work.

And as stated before, the tire are too tall to be on a slammed car. Same height as stock + being farther from the center of the car = hitting the inside of the fender wells up front when you turn. I'm having trouble with 265/35/18 which are much shorter.

Will this fit.

Lowered to about an inch or a bit more -1.4 front and -1.8 rear

Wheels Enkie rpf1 17x9.5 et +38 with 285/40/17

18x9 +35 with 285/35-18. Friend is selling his autocross wheels with a6's at a steal. I'd love to jump on them as spares if they'll fit. I'm stock height with -1.5 camber in the front. -.5 in the rear.

please please please don't do 20's. Even 19's in front look too big.

You list no offsets and no tire sizes and no suspension. I am sure they will fit without the tires though.

As much as I appreciate you posting the treadwear rating for your tires. The potential WHEEL offset is needed to determine if they will fit.

Looking to get some new wheels for my rx8. 2006, with 18 inch stock wheels. New to this, so not sure what the bolt pattern and offset differences are.

Looking at these:
(18x8 Size, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, Plus 40mm Offset)
2006 Mazda RX8 Konig Deception Wheels

There are several Bolt Pattern and Offset combinations, and also an 18x9 size. Any recommendations?

I found the answer after some searching, looks like they will fit just fine. Anyone have tire recommendations for that set of wheels though? My stock tires are 225/45/R18 - but these wheels are 10mm less offset. From what I've read, this means the outside wall of the tire will be 10mm closer to the wheel well, so I'm wondering if something like 225/40/R18 will be better. Any recommendations on that?

245/40 will do for either the 18x9 or 18x8.

Some people run stock wheels with 25mm spacers which puts them at 18x8 +25. This sits really well with a 245/40.

The 18x9 +35mm offset with 245/40 tire will look best without any rubbing.

Thanks! New RX8 owner, trying to find a good system of finding this stuff before asking, really appreciate you vets responding w/o flaming me, lol. I'm back to the drawing board though, I have a silver 8, so thinking gunmetal will look a lot nicer than straight black. I think I have enough info to make an informed decision now though, thanks again!

Alright boys after a month and a half of being on back order my wheels will be here wednesday and my coilovers the week after. Now my question is what size tires would you run. I got 18x9.75 xxr 530's with a +20 offset. Obviously gotta roll the fenders and quarters so I'm gonna practice my rubber mallet and hair dryer work on my truck,.

depends how low you want and how much camber/stretch you're willing to run. 245/40 or 255/40 will work depending on how low you want to be. But if you want to slam it, then 235/40 is your best option. Don't forget that you'll have to shave your tabs also or they will shred your tires to pieces.

Don't bother reading the part about 255/40 working depending on how low you go. It will look retarded no matter what. 245/40 could work though
