i think you will struggle to fit that on stock fenders, but definitely doable without rubbing. Just be creative

so I got my rims in today and the invoice is different from what I asked for.

I asked for 18x8 and 18x9, both with +40 (as per recommendation in this thread). The invoice reads: 18x8 +33 and 18x9 +27.... does that work?

I don't know about price, but they'll fit fine and BBS are generally pricy.

alright thanks, one more question. If I were to go with an 8.5" width wheel, would it be reccomended to change my tire size?

it's not entirely necessary, but yes, that's typically what is done. unless you are going for something specific.

Oh ok, no I was just wondering if my tires would fit a different wheel. They only have about 700 miles on them so I don't feel like getting new ones yet

Your tires can fit any wheels, can always stretch em.

you should be fine with a roll. I think the most common tire size on 17's are 255. you should be able to run 275 but thats a more rare tire size in 17's.

a 255 may work nicely since you are increasing the sidewall length, but yea a 275 will work as well.

Will 285/40/17 fit???? I know some autoxers use 285/??/18, but don't know if they rub, on this tire calculator http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp that size is almost identical in height as the stock 225/45/18
