17x10 +35 will fit fine, how low are you?

 

i'm not lowered currently at all... but after that wheel and tire combo, what would look right?

 

i would like it to look clean in a sense but agressive, ive been reading some of these and ive seen a rear 18x10 with a offset of 40 or 41 and a front 18x9 + 40 as well.

i really not knowledgable in offsets what would you recommend?

 

what would anyone recommend, i really want a 18x10 in the rear and a 18x9 in the front

 

I have 19x9.5 [35 Offset] in the rear and a 19x9 [29 Offset] in the front. [265 all around]

At this offset, I had to chamber the fronts a tiny bit. The rears were perfectly fine. No fender roll needed. The fronts look really aggressive, because they "almost" stick out of the wheel wells. I would have to chamber the front wheels a little more if I were to lower the car.

I think think the set up you mentioned would look great, and you can still lower your car (based on my own wheels). Although I might suggest going with 43 Offset all around, and 10" wide front wheels and back wheels. Your car has lots of room in the front wheel wells.

okay my turn, I need to know if i can throw on 19'' gracing seki's on my rx8 I think they might be too skinny though heres the specs

are they 18" or 19"? Either way they are thinner than stock... Would fit easily.

 

would half an inch make a big difference in handling? ya they are 19'' the diameter is bigger than stock and they are skinnier?

 

stock diameter is 8" so they are smaller. It would make a difference, makes even a difference in looks.

 

well i guess ill have to throw them on and see how it goes. ill take before and after pics and post them next week

I have to admit, that the numbers get a little dizzying when you read through all the posts. I get rim sizes, and tires, but the offset is throwing me off. And judging from all the posts im assuming this is an important number, so can someone enlighten me? Because the last car I had i put rims on but this number never came into issue... help anyone?

 

offset can be positive or negative. The stock offset on the rx8 is +50mm. Positive sticks out, and negative gets sunken in.

So just add or subtract to see where the wheel will lay, make sense?

think of it this way

increasing the number will push the wheels towards the suspension.

a lower number will pull it toward the fender (or even more outward).

a negative offset will stick out much more than a positive offset.

 

thats what I meant, lol for some reason I was thinking of +15 or +20 are "more" positive lol

 

I still don't get it.

 

The stock offset is +50. if the +# goes lower it will go out #mm, for example a +20; add 30mm to the stock wheel to see where it will lay.

 

Hi guys, some advice please..

18x9 + 25 rear

Clad with 235/40 front and 265/35 rear.

Will the above setup flush nicely? I dun mind a little camber and fender roll, but I'd like the really flushed look, bordering on aggressiveness :D

p/s: I'm lowered till about half an inch front and rear on cuscos.

 

I think I'm getting it. I guess if I was going to buy rims, I'd want a lighter rim than stock. About the same size as stock. I don't want to do any modification to the suspension or anything. That's possible right just to get a lighter rim?

 

Yea, the most common setup around here is 18x9.5 +45 RPF1, I believe 5-6lbs less on each wheel & you can run a 275 safely.

 

You'll have to roll the fenders. I think I'll like em.

 

Offset is the position of the center hub on the wheel with respect to the entire rim. A zero offset means the hub positioned at the center of the rim.

A positive offset means that the hub is moved that many millimeters further toward the outside. A negative offset means that the hub is that many millimeters further in on the rim.

I think we can stop talking about offset now. Its just going to keep confusing people.
