245/35 tires, and those will look good at stock height, but will be sunken if lowered. You can always buy spacers when you want to lower your car though.

Welcome ET can be +25 to +50... anything in between will fit. +25 will look the best.

are there any negative side effects besides the sound if I don't trim the bumper tab? I've been hitting that thing on large dips and aggressive corners.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a flush look for my '04 rx8.

Stock suspension currently, but I was thinking about getting some aftermarket coilovers and dropping my ride height by 1-1.5". With that in mind I want to run 19x9.5 +25 wheels all around. Don't mind rolling fenders or any of that. Whats a good tire size w/o stretching too much, and also will this work?

Hello guys~
My friend has 19x8 +40 wheels with 235-35-19 tires on the front and 19x9.5 +40 with 255-35-19 tires in the rear.
Now, if he would add 15mm spacers all around with the same set up, would he need any adjustments such as rolling fenders to make this fit?
I guess with the spacers the specs would be:
F: 19x8 +25 with 235-35-19 tires
R: 19x9.5 +25 with 255-35-19 tires
I ran these numbers on an offset calculator and the suspension side change would be about +0.6 inches with fender side change coming out to +0.59 inches on all sides from the original setup without the spacers. However, I don't know how to figure out if these would fit without any issues. Please help if you can.
Thank you in advance!

You didn't give suspension setup. The rear will need a roll and trim the bumper tab. It will look bad unless it's pretty low in the back. A spacer bigger than 15mm might be needed in the front. You can use a ruler and see how much 15mm would move the wheel out.

Without knowing much at all, I'd say 10mm spacer in back and 15-20mm spacer up front. Best for you to use a ruler and just figure out the look you want

Plan on rolling the fenders and trimming that tab. If you don't have to, consider that a bonus.

Hey guys, new to the RX8 scene... Anyway I have a 04 6 speed car that is going under the knife for a LSx swap (probably will be a hair lower in the front then stock) Anyway I am thinking of tossing a pro kit on it after or something to just lower it just a tad and increase the spring rates.

ANYWAY Last night someone that didn't know what they had gave me a single Volk SF-Winning rim.

19x9.5 +29

I was thinking for the front and doing 10.5 in the back but looking at what other people fit it looks like I would have to use this on the rear? I am not picky on front tire size as this will be a LSx car I just need a massive contact patch on the rear and not to much camber.

There is a single wheel that matches on eBay right now that is 19x10.5 +29 that is pretty cheap considering the price of these rims. Anyway looking for pretty much the widest I can run... 275/285/and so on....

What do you guys recommend for me? Or just sell it and get something different?

Car is currently sitting on some cheapo 18's with 245's all around.

Stock height you are not gonna want to run those wheels. It will sit outside the fender unless you are pretty low. 9.5-10.5 +45 works all around pretty easy

Yeah 10.5's +45 with 275 or even 285 is doable if you spend a few hours on the fenders (so you dont have to have unneeded camber)

The plastic might start taking chunks out of your tire... I bet you have a ring of marks already

Footman-Isn't yours 18x9+30 with 245/40s? Is it the plastic over the tab or the tab itself that you are rubbing on? Big difference.

im having trouble figuring out what size tires to get and understanding how it will relate to performance... I have 19x8.5 Axis Hiro's (either +35 or +45) and stock ride height...

wheels currently have 235/35/19... I would like to go wider if possible and also maybe a slightly larger profile to fill in some wheel gap (but not at the cost of lessening the handling capabilities)

Can anyone fill me on my options and how it might translate as far as performance? This is my daily, not tracked, but definitely driven hard. Im prolly going with the V12 Evo's which come in

235/35R19XL 91Y SBL
245/35R19XL 93Y SBL
245/40R19XL 98Y VSB
245/45R19XL 102Y VSB
255/35R19XL 96Y SBL
255/40R19XL 100Y VSB

If it matters, I am only replacing the rear tires and in a few months will move them up front and get new rears again, so for a little while it will still be 235/35/19 up front... Thanks for any help

245/35 or 255/35...245 is obviously 10mm wider and it will be a tiny bit taller. 255 is 10mm wider than that and just a little bit taller.

Was told these would fit my Rx-8 and look decent, and sit flush.

Car is lowered on hks hipermaxx rs

Volk Racing te-37 19x8.5 +35 Running 225/35/19 Front

Volk Racing TE-37 19x9.5 +34 Running 265/35/19 Rear

Tires are BFG Gforce KDW

Will I be happy with this set up?

It's ok. You didn't say how lowered you are but I'd imagine you would like it. Fronts are a little weak. Switch it up to 245/35 in the front when you wear those out I guess and 265 or 275/30 in the rear. Front tires are shorter than the rears by a bit but I'm not sure if that will set off traction control or whatever. Roll fenders and maybe trim that rear bumper tab a little bit.

Thanks. So of the two, which would be the better performer in terms of handling? I know the 255 would put more rubber on the ground but would it also be less rigid during cornering???

Yea. There is no one perfect tire for every situation. Both have pretty short sidewalls so sidewall stiffness shouldn't be too big an issue. edit: If you have stock height, 19" Axis wheels, and aren't going to rotate your tires, then you don't care about handling THAT much. Just get the one you want and don't read so much into it.

and i know the 19's and stock height arent necessarily conducive to better handling, I was asking just to learn more and start to understand the differences and relations with the various set-ups. Thanks again

Hello all I am new to the thread and would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me whether the wheels in the link below can be installed on a 2004 rx-8 6 speed manual??? Please, and thank you!

Ernie it's possible but requires a fender pull and some magic. It can be counted on one hand the number of people running something that aggressive.

eBay guy - technically yes but everyone will kick your *** if you do. Literally search your ip address, find you, and put a boot print on your ***.

edit: Post 888 in this thread lol.
