What do you guys think about work vs xx 18x10 what kind of off set should I get to be flush?

Ok so I did a lot of research before coming back here.
I know what I have to do (for the most part) to get 17x10 +25mm with 245/45's all around.What I noticed when looking at pricing however, is that there is a +35mm offset along with the 25....
I know it's approximately .4" in farther than the 25mm, so I'm guessing it'd be easier to do?
1. Would that rub on the inside of the wheel well instead of the fender?
2. Would I have to do less grinding/pulling to get that to fit?
3. Could I squish a bigger tire in there with it pushed in farther (without having to do a lot more work)?
4. The concavity is produced from wheel width, not offset, so that'd stay the same between the two?
5. Would these smaller wheels cause the ABS light to come on?
Conditions:
-Falken Azenis RT615 tires to be mounted (245/45 or bigger).
-Will be buying coilovers and will most likely have it pretty low most of the time.

Ryan2008: Look up imput1234 He had that very setup and was very low. He even made a post that showed all the work it required inside the fenders. +35 would be able to run a wider tire since it is farther in the wheel well like you mentioned. It isn't close enough to strut to rub there though.
Deadphoenix52: +40 is the easier fit, but +35 should be able to fit without much problem. Are you pretty low? If you are, the 255/35 may be too tall. 245/35 will definitely work with the +35. You could even run some small 5mm spacers with the 245/35 and be at the same situation as an 18x9+30 with 245/40.

imput1234 had 17x10 +25mm, same as xdeedubx and so on, I have yet to find a +35mm in that same size on an 8. Actually I did find one guy, forgot his name and his last activity was last year so that will not help. Looked through all his posts and he never said anything about them nor had pictures, they were just his track wheels.
Like I said, I've done everything I could to figure this out on my own, now I just need a little assistance.

I don't forsee someone coming in and giving you a better idea than 1.get the wheels 2.see where they rub 3. fix that spot 4. start over at 2 There are only a handful of people running something that aggressive or more. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

will be buying an 09 rx-8 sport (yes it's series 2 but there is no version of this thread in series 2 forum) anyways I want to downgrade to a light weight 17" rim and try and find a tire combo that will give me as close to stock total tire circumference as possible. I am thinking of the Enkei Racing RPF1 17" rim... I am a little concerned that they only came in 17"x 9" the specs for them are:
Offset: 45mm Backspacing: 6.69" Bolt Pattern: 5-114 Weight: 15.9lbs.
First: will it fit the brake rotors?
Second: If so can you recommend a decent tire that will give me as close to stock outer circumference as possible?

Series 2 isn't different than series 1 in regards to wheel/tire fitment afaik. That will fit fine and 245/45/17, 255/45/17, 265/40/17, 275/40/17 all should fit without rolling fenders or anything. Just look up a tire size calculator to see how close it is in size to stock size. I think the 265/40 will make your speedometer off by 4% or so and that's the worst of the bunch (it's not actually that bad as the speedometer is off by 1 or 2 mph at 70mph stock and the slightly smaller tires correct/overcorrect that to a certain degree).

275/40 is the size you would want. 275/45 damn sure would not fit (taller than stock). Anything is possible, but I would bet a pull would be required. PM Tiltmode43 and he will tell you what is necessary. He has run the most aggressive setups (both quantity and magnitude lol).

Hey guys, right now I'm running 18x9.5+45 on all 4. rpf1 on tokico d-spec with eibach pro.
I'm looking to get 18x9.5+38 work emotions on all 4. Wondering if that will fit, the rears should have no prob right? Will the front requie any rolling? I don't want to run 8.5 in the front, worried it won't look that flush.

You have said nothing about tire size. If you are running the same tire size as on the rpf1, just get a ruler and measure out 7mm from the top of the tire (front and rear). That's where your tire will sit. You should be fine and not require a roll unless you are trying to run a 275 or maybe 265 depending on camber.

Sorry I forgot to mention tire size, I'm currently running 275/35/18 rear and 245/35/18 front on the RPF1, I want to go with the same setup with the work emotions. So I can re-use the same tires.

Offset: 38
Tire size: 245/35 front. 275/35 rear
Question: Can I run this setup w/o any rolling?
