you can fit 275/35's on 18x9.5 +45.

it's a very common rpf1 setup.

 

The OEM are 18x8 +50.

As cited 275x35x18 is a very common fitment on 18x9.5 +45 Enkei RPF1 rims. No rolling/camber needed with Toyo T1R tires at stock height or even a bit lowered.

 

How much clearance is there from the hub to the inside of the wheel well before rubbing becomes an issue? I know this depends big time on the diameter of the wheel, but maybe just a rough estimate. I'm looking at all kinds of wheel and tire setups and I figured maybe instead of posting 50 times in this thread, someone could help me be able to figure it out on my own.

I know how sizes and offsets work for rims as well as tire sizes so that's not an issue, I just don't know the max limits for the 8.

Maybe if someone knowledgeable on this subject could post some guidelines it would help everyone with questions out a little bit more.

Just a suggestion, whether that's even a practical thing to do I have no idea. Any input would be helpful.

Ryan; the 'max limits' of the 8 are still being pushed. What are you looking to achieve exactly?

 

I'm debating still, but I think I want a smaller wheel (17") with a bigger width (9+"). Now I know what I'm looking for is aggressive but they don't like people asking if it'll fit over in that thread, so I'm stuck here.

I think what I'd like to achieve is a fitment that's as aggressive as possible without the hack job of grinding. I think it looks like ****, whether you see it or not just looking at the car, I still know it's there and that bothers me, so I do not want to go that route if possible. However, a roll never hurt anything I suppose, so that'd be fine.
Now I know to run a 17x10 +25 all the way around would require grinding, so my question is, can I do 17x9 with maybe like a +30 mm offset and be okay with just a roll or what?

The tire size obviously has a huge roll in this, and I'd like as much meat as possible to be on that fitment as well.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out on my own without going through almost 200 pages of fitments and without having my car to measure on.

I believe you might be talking about forum member: imput1234 in regards to the 17x10+25 fitment.

You can run 17x9 ~+30 w/a good roll and no pull. IIRC, you can check out the racing/competition forum - i believe some of the autox guys are running a smiliar setup.

Awesome, thanks for the info Atilla. Looks like I will have to talk to the guys who go to the track to really find out what I can fit. I'm going to be getting Bilstein PSS9's as well, so I'll be about 1.5"+ lower than stock which is yet another factor. There are quite a few guys running those however so I'm sure I can find out something.

I just have one more question...I know that the second number on a tire size is the actual height of the tire from the rim (thickness I guess you could say) but how is it measured exactly? Isn't it the percentage of the width? Ex: 255/40R17. The tire is 40% as thick as it is wide? That doesn't seem right, but that's what I thought it was, or is it measured in MM as the width is?

dont you mean percentage, width is in milimeters

 

Width is millimeters, sidewall number is the percentage of the width.

So 225/45/18 is 225 millimeters wide, the sidewall is 45% of that, or 101.25 millimeters, and fits a rim with a diameter of 18 inches,

For those who have Changed Wheel Rim Size (from 18") to RX-8 R3 19", or whatever size, you should have your PCM (ECU) Re-Calibrated, which will correct your Speedometer Reading among other things.
