Highest as in inner clearance/suspension. We know the 18x9.5 +45 w/275 fits but how much space beyond that is there?

Just realized, Nuke was running 18x10.5 +43, thats 11mm more inward than the rpf1 setup. Anything higher?

Ross_Dawg 12-08-2009 02:25 AM

Thats all i know of. Hes running 265/35/18 iirc

Hey Atilla, you know somebody on this Forum who has 18x9.5 30 OS. He is Running 275/35/18 Tires , Lowered on Tein( I think S.Tech could be wrong. Well anyways he had minor Rubbing Issue's. I would be running 255/40/18 Tires. Wouldnt you say i could get away without a roll? Or maybe just roll two fenders? Just thought id ask. Oh Btw way I am reffering to Rota P45R's Those were the Rims i want. Thanks Again!

Thanks Guys! But its al little more then i want to spend. They are sweet wheels saw them on a cover of a Magazine On a Rx8 from Japan. I dont want to buy from WheelDude, he's pretty pricey! I can get them way cheaper down here. ( The Rota P45R's that is). But thanks for the help! This is got to be The Best Thread Ever! maybe not ever but its pretty damn Sweet!

I have 9.5 +33 with 245s in the rear, and I have to say that I'm very close to needing a roll. 275s didn't have just a "little rubbing" I promise. You will definitely have to roll the rear even with 255s. Try asking the guy with the 9.5 +30 rims. I'm sure he will let you know what to expect.

tiltmode43 12-08-2009 06:24 PM

Be weary of what people post on the forum. Often times people will exaggerate one way or another when it comes to fitting certain sizes for whatever reason.

Are you lowered by any chance? If so then how much? And are you Running 245/40's all around? Thanks for that because i almost ordered a set of Rota P45R 18x9.5 30 OS.

his forum name is 2tone. by looking at his pics it is obvious a roll is needed, if not a pull. When I testfitted my NT03's (18x9.5 +27 w/ 275's) I knew I would need a pull and flare and camber (my tires were real fatties though (toyo ra1)

stewiefied 12-09-2009 02:11 AM

will this fit??
Wheel size: Front 19 x 8.5 Rear 19 x 10
Offset : Front .24 Rear .40
and what size tires you guys think for this set???

Yes I am lowered a little bit more than s-techs. 245/40s all around. Here is my opinion. Get the rims with 255/40 and roll the rear fenders. It should look great.

You think i can get away with just rolling the rears even though i am droped 1.4? Or will i need a pull? if i need a pull i will just get smaller width rims:mad:
Thanks for all the help! I have been reading the Agressive wheel fitment all night! This reply helped more then you know!:blue:

J8635621 12-09-2009 04:32 AM

If you have tanabe springs, it is 1.4" drop front and 1.2" drop rear. I have about the same amount of drop in the rear. I'm going to run 255/40/18 on 18x9.5 +28 in the rear as soon as I get another set of tires, and I will not need a pull. It is dependent on camber a little bit though. I'd be very surprised if 9.5 +30 didn't fit with just a roll.

Thanks alot man! You have been tons of help! So would you definetly say go with the 18x9.5 30 OS setup? I dont mind if i have too roll the rears only. Thats fine but i just dont wanna pull my fenders! right now i would be running 235/40's but later it will be 255/40's. I am getting a super good deal on a set of Rota P45R's in FlatBlack. I am on a budget! Besides you guys get all the good stuff in the U.S anyways! Cheers Bro!:worship:

Ross_Dawg 12-09-2009 12:48 PM

Well if you're running 235's to begin with you have a lot more space to work with. You might not even have to roll your rears. But you SHOULD anyway as the 255's will rub.

I think i can live with that! Do you think 235 will be tooo stretched on a 9.5" Rim?

Ross_Dawg 12-09-2009 02:20 PM

Yes. 255 will have a slight stretch as well but not too noticable. 235 is ok for a temporary tire.

tiltmode43 12-09-2009 02:47 PM

235/40's are 100% acceptable for a 9.5" rim. There will be a slight stretch but it is not outside manufacturer recommended widths, you'll be A-OK.

Here's a pic for reference:
Attachment 268199

255/35 won't technically have any stretch on a 9.5, 255mm is, after all, just over 10".

Here's a pic of a 255 on a 9.5 for reference:

rx8club is used to fitting the absolute widest tire on a given wheel and we have all been branded to think a slight bulge = fitting square on a wheel. It all started with those damn autocross nazis back in '04!

tiltmode43 12-09-2009 06:36 PM

Keep in mind I'm only making comments on those tire sizes Vs wheel width rather than how the wheel will fit. Generally, if questionable at all, always go a tad skinnier rather than wider. If you go a bit skinnier you can judge how much extra space you've got. If you go wider, you risk running into problems of fender rubbing. In the end tires eventually wear out and you can always go wider if you deem proper clearance.

Have fun with the new wheels!

volcomx31 12-09-2009 11:46 PM

would these fit the 8? http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5786 these would definitely look nice on my car.

gregs 12-09-2009 11:48 PM

^^the title shows its a bmw lug pattern, they run a different lug pattern than our 8's
