Well, I'm new in the wheel/tire game: and, (forgive me) I figure just post the question instead of read through the whole thread.

I'm looking for some decent autocross and maybe track wheel. I run STX, so I can run 9 inches wide, and I would like to get 17 diameter to keep the costs of the tires lower and have less mass.

I think that makes sense...

Anyway, I'm having real problems finding 17x9s or even 17x8.5s for the car... can anyone point me in the right direction to a economical solution?

Also, what tire size? 265/40/17?

Most of the STX guys here use RPF1's, or some other type of Enkei. I thought they had a tire limit of 255, maybe that's another class, don't follow up with autox much. PM topgear8, he's doin the same thing.

Yeah, it looks like RPF1s are the favorite of most. Any other wheels that are close in weight but lower in price?

Also, what other vehicles would use this wheel without being staggered? I am lurking around the s2000 forum and rx7club trying to find some used wheels, but all I'm finding are staggered set-ups.

It's rare, I know some NASA TT S2K guys that run non staggered setups. but it's really rare. You can find used non staggared wheels, and switch the tires out. check on zilvia.com to find the best deals on used wheels.

Excellent! Thanks for the info, guys!

I don't want to pay full price for track wheels that will only be on for a limited time. Don't care about looks, as long as they're light, the right size, and don't break.

EDIT: Imput - are you sure that's the right website? It looks like one of those websites that's loaded up with pop-ups and stuff... didn't have anything about used wheels... but info on blogging and the Nissan versa. . . . hmm

The RPF1's and FN01RC's are two of the most popular 17x9" wheels. Others that are good are the Enkei NT03+M.

And yes you can run up to a 265 in STX, but most of us stick with the 255 because none of the competitive tires make a 265 in 17"

Sorry guys, been in the hospital for a week and their wireless blocked rx8club for some stupid reason. He's been given one more chance, since he hadn't been warned yet. I doubt it'll sink in though.

type of wheel ?

Hey, since I've poluting this thread with dumb questions... I think I'll keep it up!

Found these wheels on another forum. 17x9s.

Guy says the brand is Hot wheels, but my question is this, does anyone know what model they are? More important than that, the weight of each wheel??

Also, what are the offset issues that I need to watch out for? either for fitment or performance.

If it's not a known brand, they are probably way too heavy.
