OK, I'm getting ideas for my track set up for next year

Volk CE28n - 17x10 +45 all around with 275/40-17

I was originally looking at the RPF1's in 17x9 +45 will the Volks fit about the same or better, what do you guys think?

TopGear8 07-18-2009 03:16 PM

^That will fit fine without a roll.

Ok, thanks I was hoping I did not need a roll at all

Sanguine 07-22-2009 09:25 AM

The Enkei RP-F1 18x9.5 +45 wrapped in 255/40/18s in all four corners?

TopGear8 07-22-2009 10:42 AM

^Really?

There are so many people running that set up, Most on 275's instead of 255's...

Yes, It will fit, no rubbing, and you can go as low as you'd like.

Sanguine 07-22-2009 11:12 AM

:newbie:

My bad, just being cautious.

TopGear8 07-22-2009 11:29 AM

^No worries :)

Are you looking to get the Black RPF1, or the Silver?

Sanguine 07-22-2009 11:38 AM

Silver. I just can't decide on which wheel to buy.

It's either the Enkei SC05s or the RPF1s. I think the SC05s look better and are 70 USD cheaper but I can't ignore that the RPF1s are stronger, lighter by 6 lbs and 1.5 inches wider.

Atilla 07-22-2009 08:03 PM

^Classic Function or form dilema (sp)

One is more appealing to the eye and slightly cheaper however the other presents better specs while being slightly more expensive.

$70 for a lighter, stronger and wider wheel is worth it IMO.

you so sure the rpf1 are stronger?...

sthio 07-23-2009 03:01 PM

will this fit without rolling any fenders..
19x8.5 +35 245/35/19 F
19x9.5 +40 275/30/19 R

plus, I am going to use lowering springs that would probably drop around 1.2" - 1.4" F and around .9" - 1.2" Rear.

one more question while I'm at it, i wonder why does most of the 8 here has the front tire of 245/35/19... why can't it be 245/30/19.... so that it would be consistent with the rear. thanks

TopGear8 07-23-2009 03:06 PM

^Yes it fill fit, depending on camber.

What wheels are you interested in?

The "30" is the percent of the wheel that is the sidewall, So 30% of the 245mm tire is the sidewall. Which means that a 245/35 will be similar to a 275/30. As far as sidewall height.

oh ok.. so, a 245/30 would actually look thinner than 275/30 although they are the same?

I am not sure what u meant by depending on camber.. is this something you would have to do to fit the wheels?

I am interested in axis shine.. or any recommendations? I love wheels with lip on them..

TopGear8 07-23-2009 03:40 PM

^If you for some reason running 0 degrees camber, meaning the wheel is perfectly straight up and down, then you will rub. If you have say -1 degree camber, which is usually about stock, then you will be fine and not rub at all.

I was thinking about getting the Enkei RP03 225/45-18 all around with a 40 offset.

Any feedback/suggestions on tire size, cambering, etc. would be really appreciated.

J8635621 07-24-2009 06:15 AM

Ok so you want an 18x? +40 with 225/45/18 Hmm I'm going to guess it will work easily, but you haven't told the wheel width.

Demon8 07-24-2009 01:52 PM

19x8 40
19x9.5 40 Will it fit ????? I know this might sound stupid but on the back of the rim it says ET 40, that is the offset right???

TopGear8 07-24-2009 02:30 PM

^Yes thats the offset, and Yes it will fit.

Bravery 07-27-2009 07:55 PM

how about ....
17x9
off 24
275 40 17

just wondering, im expnding my possibilities but i was wonding if this would fit

TopGear8 07-28-2009 12:40 AM

^It'll rub if you are lowered. Go with a 255/40/17 on a 9" wheel.

Bravery 07-28-2009 10:35 AM

im lowered with a fender roll, im looking for a diff set up.
Front is
255 35 19
19*8.5
Rear
265 35 19
19*9.5

off 35

this is what ive got now

pdxhak 07-28-2009 10:40 AM

Are you looking for different wheel sizes? Tire sizes?

Bravery 07-28-2009 11:31 AM

im looking for diff size. i want to go to a 17x9 or 10 or 18x9.5 all the way around. im not a big fan of oversized wheels. i got these becasue i had the opportunity and price wasnt bad.

J8635621 07-28-2009 12:09 PM

Lol this isn't the "Make a Decision for Me" thread. Those will all fit given the right offsets/tire.

wow, didnt know we weren't allowed to ask and answer questions here. im trying to figure out a 17x9 or 17x10 with a good offset. im not that knowledgeable in wheels so i fugured this would be a good place to start.
