Thats not max grip.. you should check out Nitto NT-01s tread... basically has no grooves

That's nonsense regarding signing a waiver. Also the new GT3 and RS come with the MUCH superior Pilot Sport Cup.

Bald tires do not equal "max grip". All slicks and DOT approved slicks will be different - most better than Nitto.

Pretty sure those tires come on the Euro Spec M3 CSL also...personally, I've been thinking when my current summer tires go (Kumho MX) that I'll see about going to a fully treaded R888...though getting a nail in one of those would suck.

Half the time the dealership can't even get warranty work done correctly, even if that was true, how good do you think compliance will be?

I don't think slicks are good for any use on real roads. Even without rain there are many things that makes roads different from tracks.

I like Avon Tech M500 for all-round use. Rain or shine, it has great grip for $130.

for a real street tire i.e. 140+ treadwear rating you want the Yokohama Advan Neova AD07, just look at the STU results at the SCCA National Solo Championships, speaks for itself

RA-1 for an R-compound tire.
PS2 and Advan Neova AD07 are both very competent street tires.

For daily driving the RA-1 is a great choice. Yes for track use only the R888, BFG R1 and Hoosier R6 would all be quicker tires/choices, but for street use, I was happy with the RA1s on many Miatas, RX8s, RX7s, 300-500whp NSXs, and even a E63 AMG...

try no reading at all ... :D

somehow i failed to see the post where he showed the rim and it's size. i would have recommended a smaller width.

I just purchased the new BF Goodrich R1 255/40/17 on 17x9 Enkei's. They have a 40 tread wear.

Havent used them on the track yet but will do so on the 26th of January. I'll post a review of these tires at that time.

without a doubt the falken rt615. I have used a few different "high performance tires" in the past including kuhmo's (which were not to bad) but the falken is all around an amazing tire as far as grip. its really not bad in the rain either. I believe I was looking at 140ish a tire on discounttiredirect.com. there a little noisy but if your looking for highst grip then that shouldnt be a concern for you

The RT-615 is a 200 treadwear tire. So is the Dunlop Z1 and the Hankook Z212.
The Bidgestone RE-01R is between 140 and 180 UTQG.

Any D.O.T. R tire compound will be stickier than these.

It's all moot anyhow, as I think the OP was only interested in hooking from a standing start.
