Titanium strut bars, who will be interested?

We haven't been making any new products for the RX-8 for a couple of months so we are trying to come up with some new stuff. Who will be interested in Titanium front and back strut bars? Target price will be around $250 a piece.

How about making a four point titanium front strut bar. That would be excellent. Think the Japanese mazdaspeed strut bar or the CP racing strut bar. That would be very nice in Titanium I think.

Titanium is stronger.

The property of Titainium is that it has the strength of steel but 45% lighter.

That can be done but something like that will cost around $450.

That will be too expensive for people to afford even though it can be done.

I don't know if that would be worth the $250. In another topic, do you think the RX-8 needs thicker Rear Sway Bars? Is it just me or does the RX-8 have more body roll than you expected? I don't want to ruin the soft ride but I'd like less body roll, so RSB would be the most efficient way to accomplishing this. Anyone?

id like to see the proposed design of the front and rear. most front sway bars i see dont do much for chassis strenghtening due to their swivel bolting location.

maybe a non-swivel ladder type front strut bar would do wonders for handling and chassis strength?

I'm interested, I'd buy the titanium underbraces if there was a significant weight decrease from stock, as well as the titanium strut and sway bars

hey Chuck,

I would definitely be up for a titanium (or even aluminum) 4 pt front strut tower brace similiar to the Japanese MS one. I can provide my care if you need an 8 to fab with.

I'd pick up a 4 pt but not if it was over $350. I feel that I could spend it elsewhere and have better results. So what if steel ends up being 1 1/2 pounds more, if I got my fat *** of the computer and lost some weight...fo-getda'bout-it.

Re: The question about a larger front swaybar- I put a Racing Beat rear swaybar on my 8 and noticed a better feel for the road a llittle less wheelhop. I still need to install the front bar and springset.

No idea if the MS 4pt Strut is made out of Aircraft Aluminum, but it is aluminum for sure. And the quote I got before including shipping was close to $600. NO Thanks!

you're looking in the wrong places. It's more around $500-525 shipped. I know you could get it shipped even less than $500 if you can get a good "hookup"
