Tire woes!

Lucky me I got a nail in my tire that cant be fixed. I am mad that oem tires dont have road hazzard, but hey if you can afford an 8 you can afford a tire.
What pisses me off is that no one locally has anything in stock. The best anyone can do is 7-10 days! This really pisses me off big time.
It is holding air at about 25 psi so I can drive around a bit in the city.
Problem is we are going to the twin cities Tuesday so I cant be driving 6 hours highway with a flakey tire. My dealer will not swap one of the lot for me. So much for service.
I have a Honda Accord that I can take on the trip but I really wanted to take the 8.
I do have the option of buying from tire rack and fed exing over night, but it will add 100 dollars to the cost.
I contacted Dunlop Canada to tell them how pissed I am at the lack of road hazzard and more so the pathetic lack of supply.
As a good will gesture they have offered to split the cost 50/50 on whatever deal I can hammer out with my retailer.
Not bad, I'll take it.
However I have to buy my tire from a Canadian retailer.
So, what to do? Splurge , pay more for over night, or save myself 300 dollars and wait and split the cost.
I wasnt concerned about not having a spare. Road side assistance, patch the tire and off we go. Worst case go buy a new tire same day.
Fix in a can is fine for city driving but having to wait a week sucks.
I am now going to purchase an additional new tire just to have around so I dont have to wait. Maybe something used that I can put on a cheap rim for a real spare.
How is availability in the US? Is it just Canada that has no supply? Surely there are enough cars needing this size tire to have a decent supply.
Any chance of anyone having an extra tire and also happens to be driving through winnipeg, manitoba this weekend? Lol!
Any advice/thoughts/prayers/etc?

Thanks for listening. I just had to let out some steam.

P.s. I still washed my 8, and it still looks great , plus my sub still sounds good!

What a bummer. One month of ownership and I am not impressed at all. Makes me even consider selling the car and driving something that I can at least fix pronto.

Doh! Sorry to hear about your flat tire. Thats weird that you don't have road hazard. Did you asked your finance advisor? Because Mazda does offer road hazard (along with some other pkgs). I have the total pkg and everything is included (of course, for a nominal fee). Although, they won't warranty tires that are not within the specs of the car. You can also get a road hazard program from tire rack, but the bad thing is you gotta buy 4 tires (ouch!) ie to be eligible. Other than that, should call your dealer and see if they can provide you with the program (but I have a feeling that if you add it, you might get a very big price jump compared to if you have gotten it when you first bought the car).

I am not sure if Mazda offered road hazzard. All I know is oem tires from the factory dont have it. Tire rack road hazzard is not available in Canada.
I dont even care about the cost of the tires. But I damn well expect them....no actually I demand that they have them in stock. I can see a day or but not 7-10 days.
If Dunlop was not gonna split the difference with me I would simply fed ex overnight a new tire from tire rack. But add the 100 bucks overnight charge to the 250 Dunlop will give and I will save 350 bucks. I can take the accord.
What really pisses me off is that my dealer will not swap out a tire for me, given my situation.
Not to mention they screwed me on my trade, and promised me a non existent block heater.
But I have a lot of spare time and I can be a real ******* if I want.
I already have a vendors permit from my city dept, and I will go into business when I get back from my holidays.
I plan to open a lemonaid stand, near my dealer. Of course I will be offering free lemonade.
The expression on their face will be proceless when they call the police and I am 100% legal.
My dealer was already busted on a local tv station's "consumer watch" type segment.
They were overcharging for a "24,00km check up" type deal that they insisted was needed for warranty purpose. Mazda Canada said the price was out of line and that the work was optional and recommended but not necessary for warranty.
Of course the dealership had the typical no comment "turn that camera off" response when they were busted by the tv station.
Naturally I will be handing out free copies of the segment with my free lemonade.

Why can't the tire be fixed? Hole too close to sidewall?
