Red face tire opinions

ok welp i'm lookin to swap out my 555extremezrs, just not happy with em. nice wear but scary in rain and just dreadful in snow.

i'm lookin at falken due to great prices (poorest rx8 owner)
or the nitto neo gens (245/40/18)

has anyone tried the falken FK452

or hell just give me opinions on tires i'm lookin for an overall great tire under 200 bux each and wider than a 225

but i'm open for all opinions but i do want one that doesn't make the speedometer too far off

Not cheap, but Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. Great tire all around.

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 are unbelievable for the money.

Kumho Ecsta SPT, great tire for the price you pay for. Do a search on these tires and you will see what I'm talking about.

I'm using the Avon 550m all season. they are giving me a much smoother ride then the OEM tires, much quieter too.

yeah I'm on the Avon M550's as well (DFW Texas here)

Only reason i got them was due to being in AR for work for a while.... I've put about 15.5K miles on them... good tire, but I've noticed lately even in low speed turns im getting mad screeching and squealing. I have my stock potenza's in storage back home with only 8K miles on them, I really cant wait to go home and put them back on so I can enjoy a high performance summer tire again.

with 15.5K miles on my all season M550's how soon do you think I should replace them? I've already had them rotated once, how long "generally" should an all season last in terms of miles? (keep in mind I dont race/autoX or do anything that would cause them to die quickly)

I've got Pirelli P-Zero Nero all seasons 245's all around. IMO they are way better than stock, at least the same if not slightly better performance on dry roads, but way better in wet, snow, and cold temps. I live in Vancouver B.C., so we get lots of rain and occational snowfall, these tires are perfect for the climate condiditons here. I've also taken them on the track and drove them real hard, they performed very well. Good tread wear too. I would buy these again no question.

Goodyear F1 GSD3 245/40/18 all round. Great tire. SMooth and quiet, great roadholding and has tremendous grip in the wet. Bit over $200 but worth the extra money. Voted best tyre by Car and Driver.

I recently bought the Falken fk451's 245/40. I've used them for one track day and about 1k road miles. I am very happy with them. Great on the street! The grip is way up vs. oem Dunlops. OK for the track, too, but a little loud (on track, not the street). They look great, too. I paid $135 each.

Do you need different rims to accomodate different sizes? Pardon my ignorance.
