Tire mixing and matching

since it's become painfully evident that it's going to be extremely hard to find 1 stock dunlop for sale, I was curious to know what affect (if any) putting 1 or 2 potenzas on the car with the dunlops?

Would this have any particularlly dangerous detremental effects on the car, such as poor handling/braking, excessive wear/strain on suspension, faster than usual tire wear, etc?

Any assistance that you guys can give will be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance...

I suppose you could mix two different summer ultra high-performance tires on the same axle, but I sure wouldn't recommend it. The stock Dunlop shouldn't be too hard to find, I bought a pair from Tire Rack a year + 1/2 ago, and certainly could have bought just one. They will ship to a "partner" tire service shop almost anywhere in the country.

In any case, don't buy Potenza RE040 for a replacement. There are far better tires for lower cost.

I am now running a full set of Kumho ECSTA SPT (245/40 x 18) and I'm very happy with them. Cost about $660 for the set, shipped to Mississippi and mounted locally.
