Ok, so I heard someone got an extra .2 sec reduction using a lighter fly wheel.

Has anybody ever raced there freind or haves seen two Rx 8's with differnt wheel size compete on the track?

How much faster are 16" wheels over 18" ?

I'm not sure I follow your post. You are talking about 2 different things. You seem to be asking about the flywheel, but then asked about 16" and 18" wheels. I suspect maybe you don't realize that the flywheel is attached to the eccentric shaft (crankshaft in a boinger) and is the mating surface between the clutch and the engine.
A lighter flywheel will give you quicker throttle response, but that won't necessarily equate to a better 1/4-mile time. They are great for road courses, but for drag racing you typically want a heavier flywheel that will maintain inertia in between shifts and stand up to the abuse of launching. The lighter may lend an improvement with an adapted shifting technique, but may not last long with repeated clutch-smoking launches. Most noticable improvement would be all around driving and throttle response, as long as it is not so light as to make starting (from a standstill) difficult.

oops! Sorry it was late.

I meant a person with a lighter flywheel has proved that he gets a better 1/4 mile run at the track so, on to the next modifications; wheels and tires.

What I meant to say was, concernning tires and the wheel size of the tire,

Has anyone tried racing in the 1/4 mile with stock 16" wheels and tires, then racing again with the 18" wheels and tires?

Which wheel and tire combination has proven to be faster?

How much faster?
