do you change your own wheels when winter comes around, or do you have a shop do it?

I think it would be pretty simple to just jack up one tire at a time and swap them.

Yep, simple to do yourself. I use the jack that comes with the car. If you don't own a torque wrench, you'll want to buy one.

21mm ½ drive deep socket

12 “ long Breaker Bar in ½ drive

a large 4-way lug nut wrench

Torque wrench ½ drive

I do not think the thread starter was referring to mounting / dismounting the tires from the wheels.

Thank you for that bit of information. I have my winter wheels in storage, and I guess I was concerned about the wheels possibly getting out of balance due to handling, use, etc. It appears I was just over paranoid about how easy it would be to get a tire out of balance.

would a breaker bar be needed at all? the nuts shouldnt be on that tight
