Tein S-Tech Springs Installation Before and After
I wanted to install some springs on the car to get rid of the awkward gap mainly in the front. After researching springs, I've found that many of the people got Tein S-tech springs and loved them. Perfect drop, better handling, and still maintains stock ride.
Rotaryextreme.com had the springs on sale for $130, and to make things even better, I found out they were local so I didn't need to pay for shipping or wait until they got here, I dropped by and picked up a set from them. Great price and great guys over there.
Rotary Extreme were able to install the springs, but from the price quote they gave me, I continued to look around. Xyntax, one of the guys on rx8club.com, told me that he got quoted for his spring install and I liked the price. We decided to get our springs installed together in order to get a good deal on the installation.
Today I go in around 11am to get them installed. They told me it would take anywhere from around 2-3 hours. I've decided to take some before and after pictures for those who were intersted in the Tein springs and would really like to know how much of a drop/appearance you get. I am excited to see the results, but here are the before pictures.
Picture 1 is the gap of the rear wheel
Picture 2 is just the springs in the box
Picture 3 is the gap of the front wheel
I will take a full side shot of the car before I leave for the shop and then after to see if you can tell a difference (I cannot really tell in pictures, but I guess in real life, you can really tell that it's lowered) along with pictures of the gap of the rear and front wheel.
Go ahead and check back around 2:30pm by the latest and hopefully I'll have after pictures up.

I got the car back around 3:00 and at first glance, it didn't really look as if it lowered at all. Once I got in the car and started driving home, I was able to tell the difference. The whole car seemed to be so much smoother, the ride was not bumpy at all, it was actually better than stock. I took a corner pretty fast and no sliping or sliding in my seat. That night I took it on Highway 17 towards Santa Cruz which is a pretty curvy and windy road, so I tested the springs in the first 50 or so miles when I got them installed. My poor gf was pretty much scared the whole ride up, but I knew everything was under control.
I got home pretty late tonight so I was not able to get any pictures. Tomorrow I will take pictures of the car/after pictures. I am extremly happy with the springs and although most people won't notice, it really eliminates the wheel well gap in the front while improving ride/handling. After a couple 100 miles hopefully the springs will settle more and the car will lower a little more to eliminate the whole gap, or maybe I'll just had to buy bigger wheels.
I will post after pictures tomorrow.

First pic is before drop
Second pic is after drop
Can't really tell in the pictures, but in real life you can really tell.
Clear corners are STILL not here yet, it's been almost 3 weeks and I'm starting to get annoyed by japan-parts!

I have placed my car next to IzoomzoomI at the dyno day we had and compared our cars side by side. The drop in his car with s-tech is so obvious when compared next to my stock ride. That's what prompted me to go ahead and buy a set.
I will be have mine installed this Saturday or maybe next Saturday since I might be going somewhere this weekend.
Hardhitter, did you know if they chopped 1 inch off your bump stops? Coz I know some people miss that part of the installation when they really should do it.

I gave / told them that the instructions were inside the box, hopefully they did it, but I don't know, I'm happy with the install, although it did seem kind of suspicious how they would not take credit card (their "machine" was down) and only wanted cash, I got there and I didn't have cash or check. Luckily, my dad was still there when he dropped me off to pick it up so he paid it in cash and I just payed him back lol.
Also suspicious that they wern't able to give me a receipt because it was for dyno day people only or something and that if he gave me one, he'd have to charge tax or something like that. I have no idea what he was trying to say.
Xyntax, let me know if you get a receipt or anything.

It's look nice hardhitter. I like it better than the Tein H tech look. I've gotta take my car down to Santa Cruz as well just to try out my springs. Am I the only one in San Jose that got the Tein H springs? Damn it!

Looks good. I'm gonna grab me a pair tomorrow from Rotary Extreme. My dad's friend is gonna install it, so hopefully I get to watch the process. BTW, how long after the installation should I wait before getting an alignment?

really i had thought usually after they get installed it was time to get an alignment?
a buddy of mine thought so due to race cars putting on new suspension, tires, alignment and then hitting the track?
