Twinkie: MX193 is not a newb and is a member of the Vegas contingent for some time. He rarely leaves the Vegas threads due to the propensity for some members to jump on perceived newbs. We are a small but active part of the 8 forums. There are only a couple of us that have the intestinal fortitude to venture actively away from the local threads.

eviltwinkie, how the hell do you have 2,138 posts since you joined in January 2007? Do you have a life, or do you spend all your time on this forum? Only thing I can tell you is take your mom's ***** out of your *** and stop trying to start **** with members. I know, you wouldn't have the ***** to say any of that to them in person..

. . . Both of those gentlemen that were banned have been attacked in the past when they posted out of the Vegas threads. A little foul language is used all the time on this forum. They perceive that each time they post that they get attacked so they are quick to respond. . . .
I guess maybe everyone has some growing up to do.
oh, and
can't we all just get along??
so many wadded up panties over the last month - I blame baby jesus.

an attack is also known as provoking someone... throwing **** in their face.. and the two that were banned were obviously provoked rudely.. and when provoked most of us will defend ourselves one way or another.. to be fair .. both parties should have been banned .. if you wanna get all technical with the rules.. then we all should be banned.. cuz none of us are perfect.. which is why I say its called favortism.. the ones that don't kiss *** get banned..

Provoked rudely??
The original post asked why the drop seemed less than expected. The answer was b/c they were installed w/o pre-loading. What post did I miss that was rude?
Either way, saying something along the lines of "you did it wrong" is not even close to saying "F-you and F-Jedi" several times.
Maybe you're mistaking "kissing ***" with "not being a dick" - there's no justification for cursing other members b/c they have a different opinion.

He could just as easily responded with, "I changed my mind" He allowed himself to be provoked by a comment that had no inflamatory meaning to it.
As for the drunk comment... You consider that provoking someone? I think he was already upset about something and just decided to use that as a reason to unleash.

oh there so many ways to say ****.. without being verbal and it means just the same.. people trying to get under someones skin.. under the radar.. but I know those mind games.. and im not fooled.. basicaly you got away with it .. for not being verbal.. but you were just as much a part of it as he was..

w/e. The answer to the question "why hasn't it settled yet" was "b/c they weren't preloaded" - followed by a rash of ****.
Does this post:
coupled with the calling out for "**** you Jedi" really warrant this response:
And does this one:
really warrant a "**** you jedi" in the first place?
Even if I concede the "provoking" point (which I'm not) the response was attacks directed at 2 members. If the forum rules were "be nice at all times" - well, you're right - none of us would be here. But the rules prevent personal attacks, while saying nothing about "provoking" - so it's a moot point.
Does this post:
jesus dude just post once, are you drunk?
if you don't want to then don't, but it does help, not in the drop obviously but you'll expose those bolts pointed out to much more stress then before instead of allowing the new springs to get the full weight they are engineered to.
It's christmas, act a little nicer please.

thats also provoking someone.. basically calling their car a piece of ****.... thats not right and uncalled for.. we all drive rx8's and should respect each others cars .. to each his own way of doing things... some preload .. some dont.. no need for bashing another car just because its not preloaded.. plus I gurantee that mikes car is lower than all your cars..

The key difference between a banned member & a non-banned member is that my response was to ignore this message. Whereas a banned member comes back with a straight forward attack complete with F-bombs.
See how that works?
So, in conclusion, to argue that 4 people should have been banned must mean that you also believe you deserve to be banned for calling me an idiot. Right?
#95
exactly.. me and you going back and forth.. we could say all kind of things.. that would take a trained eye.. because yea im basically calling u an idiot in other terms.. and thats how it starts..

Can someone just put it plainly and tell me why they think pre loading is better for the car than not pre loading. I have seen mike's car and all he has ever worked on the drops are all amazing. So i guess i'm missing something. Pre loading will make the drop better? Or is better for the car. Someone explain it cus i'm lost in all the arguing

Agreed.
Childish pissing contest via the interwebs. Who cares? Mine is lowered to a perfect height, imo.

How again did I provoke him?
Have we become soooo over sensitive these days that me saying "I feel bad for your car" is suddenly inslulting? I've said that dozens of times on here; when people don't wash their car for a month, when people install cheap mods that won't work, when people won't open their eyes and mind to a different install technique that could allow them to take full advantage of a new mod. Pre-loading works, it always has worked, and not ONE person that I've recommended it to has ever come back to me and said it was a waste.

Pre-loading is not 'better', it simply completes the install in a shorter amount of time. If the springs are installed on a lift, there is NO weight on the springs so when the control arms are tightened, the springs are expanded more then they should be. It hence takes gravity (+ weight of vehicle) longer to 'settle' to it's intended ride height.
If you have the control arms loose when you subject the springs to the weight of the vehicle, you end up with a front end that is lower right off the bat. Not preloading will get it there over time but why wait?
Either method works, but some people have driven for MONTHS and not achieved the ride height they should have. RotaryRasp (who is HIGHLY knoweldgable abour our vehicles) installled springs, didn't pre-load and 6 months later his car was still not lowered to the level it should have. NgoRX8 (another senior member) loosened his control arms, subjected the springs to more weight, and BAM, his car lowered.
It's a crazy thing the way springs work, I'm sure there's more technical ways to describe exactly how this works but it just does. Hope that cleared things up a bit
