Lurch, I've been researching rim size and offsets and I like your setup (especially the fact that you don't rub at all with the +40 offset). A couple questions:

I was going to go with S-techs because they lower more in the front, which would help even out the drop on the RX-8. Your Eibach setup looks very balanced too, even though those springs drop it the same for front and rear. How is this possible, since on the RX-8, the front gap is larger? I think the front wheel well is actually higher than the rear...

Also, you mentioned in another post that you have pretty agressive camber for the rear wheels. Is this the reason why it doesn't rub back there? Do you happen to know the camber setting on your car? And lastly, how's the tire wear with it?

I'm planning on new rims on the Spring: Volk Racing GT-S gunmetal, 19x9.5 all around, with a 40 offset and 245/35 or 255/35 tires. Want to make sure I get the best size possible!

Thanks in advance!

camber i am not sure on, as it is where it fell when i lowered the car. yes that is why i dont rub in the back, which looks pretty hot and agressive, but at the cost of more agressive tire wear on the rear. its not that bad though, but then im not driving more than 10 miles or so a day on average.

i would go with the 255/35 as that will be as close as possible to the factory tire diameter. mine did rub once or twice on the first 2 miles or so, but then never again, even with 2 passengers and luggage in the car.

also, test fit the wheels before you mount the tires just to make sure of clearance.

Well, the problem is I may get a package, which would be sent to me with tires already mounted. If I lowered with S-techs, clearance shouldn't be a problem anyway, correct?

Hey I'm New to the forum. Love your 8. How do you like the SSR rims? I'm thinking about getting the SSR Vienna. I'm lowered on Tanabe NF210. What size should I get?

That all depends. How are the roads where you do most of your driving? How low is your car? Is your car properly aligned?

For the most part the roads are smooth. The springs dropped me 1.3 in the front and 1.2 in the rear. Yes. I got and alignment after I installed the Springs.

going with a 19 x 9.5, lowered, with proper alignment, you will need to have at least a 45 offset, if not higher. you will need to test fit the wheel on the car.

Lurch, just found a set of these and have purchased the D5R's in gunmetal with the exact same sizes/fitment. Pretty excited to get em installed. Looking for tire suggestions now and might also go with the Eibachs as I had them on my FD. . Just wanted to tell you your car looks HOT . Hopefuly mine will be equally as hot. Thanks, ken
