Good thread. I feel validated. Some just don't comprehend how prolific and prevelant flying insects are in the south. Not saying that they aren't anywhere else. I'm just saying it's crazy down here.

Loosen then 80% of the way, let sit for 30 minutes, retighten and BINGO, your car will lower slightly and the springs will settle within a few days / week depending on how much you drive.
Jedi, you are the man. Very simple instructions which I followed today and BAM!!! My car settled immediately. That's an additional 3/4" drop just by pre-loading the springs.

It had been 3 weeks since put my new S-tech springs on and it only dropped 1/2 way. I tried to be patient and see if the springs will eventually lower over time.

Let me say without a doubt, YOU MUST pre-load the front springs if you want the full advertised drop on the Tein S-Tech springs. The rears are fine.

Next up, alignment......

Hook it up Jedi. I'll probably go in next week for an alignment. Thanks!

One other thing, do I need to do the same for the rear? There is one bolt with the bushings back there. Do I need to loosen and tighten it there too?

Nope, don't need to do a thing for the rear. Those will settle on their own.

Here's where I got my alignment done:
Accurate Alignment
971 N Batavia St Ste A
Orange, CA 92867
(714) 538-1916

I did a quick google search for them and this is what I found

I can't speak highly enough of Jon and his team here at Accurate Alignment. I brought them my C5 FRC Corvette for an alignment almost three years ago and they set it up absolutely perfect. I've never seen 4 tires wear so evenly in my life. 23,000 miles and two sets of tires later that car still drives straight as an arrow and handles beautifully.

I just bought a Porsche GT3 and made Accurate Alignment one of my first stops. The car was twitchy when I bought it, the back end would jump to the right on hard shifts, and it felt like it was understeering too much. Jon's team made the necessary alignment and suspension changes and mounted two new rear tires for me. The car feels perfect now! Like it should.

Accurate Alignment are the only people I would trust to set up my cars alignment and suspension. They take their time, they do it right, and they're very very careful with your cars. Even though I now live 400 miles away I will still take my car to Accurate Alignment- They're that good.
They can either do OEM specs or you can tell them exactly how you want the car set up. I highly recommend this place. Make sure you call them and set up an appointment, they're quite popular...

Thanks for the recommendation Jedi. It's about a 20 minute drive for me, but I can probably swing it.

I was going to take down to the local Firestone and get it done for $70.

Jedi, I just called Accurate Alignment and they charge $125. Yikes. That's a little more than what I wanted to spend.

yeah, not the cheapest setup ever but if you dont' mind spending a little extra, it's worth the $$$.
They can do any setup you want, will offer recommendations on camber / toe, based on your driving style, etc.

After speaking with them a while, I went with some neg camber on my car and I'm very pleased with how it came out.

Ah man, I just want a good ol' alignment so my tires wear evenly.

Negative camber? That's too complicated for me. I'll just head down to one of the local tire shops and get done. Thanks for the advice. I'm just trying to save money wherever I can right now. Christmas is a B***tch.

If you're in OC, I can install your springs for you for only $40 + beer! The alignment will have to be done at a shop though. It'll cost less than doing it at a shop though.
EDIT: Nevermind, you installed them already...

it's up to you as to which specs you want to go with. You definitely need to get an alignement afterwards though, as installing the struts / springs requires you to loosen the alignement bolts.
