Stuck coilover collar...

I tried adjusting our TEIN Basic coilovers on the 8 yesterday and ran into a little trouble.

I got the front driver's side done just fine and mounted the 19's on it.

I got to the driver's side right and had a bitch of a time getting the locking collar to move, but eventually it went. After that, I couldn't get the adjustment collar to move. I tried everything; turning it either way, tapping on the collar lightly, using a brass punch and a hammer to try to get it to break loose, I put the spanning wrench on and used my foot, I hooked one spanning wrench into the other then stuck a large screwdriver through it's handle and used one foot on the hub and one on the chassis...nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? I'm nervous about WD40 or PB Blaster for once it does come loose; would it be bad to have the threads that slick? I know you can't heat it because of the gas in the struts.

Not sure what to do at this point...any help is appreciated. I ended up putting the winter wheels back on and leaving the suspension at the height it was at for winter.

Spray it with the lube.....the locking collar keeps it from moving anyway....

Thanks man. Looks like that's the only way to go at this point.

UPDATE:

Soaking the threads and collar in Liquid Wrench and white lithium grease did nothing. I think I'll have to take it off the car at this point, which is a huge project. :-/

UPDATE:

A friend and I took down the whole rear suspension arm from around the shock. We then each used a 6 foot pipe off of the spanning wrench handles and pushed against each other, then sat with our feet together and pushed apart. No luck.

As a last resort, I think I'm going to try heating the adjustment collar a bit since we'll have pretty much buy a new one anyway.
