With over 12,000 trouble free miles on my own rotary caps, my curiosity goes to wondering just how much further the rotary valve stem cap sticks out than the plain black one. Can't be that much further.

 

I may be a noob to this forum, but my join date on RX7club is Feb 2001 and that's only because the 3 years prior that I was on there got tossed after they got hacked and had to restart the board. I'm also a Mod on nopistons.com and I've built over 60 rotary engines, built my own 20B T76/Microtec FD and N/A/Motec 20B FC and a few dozen customers FD's most at 400-500hp and all running Apexi' Power FC's. I just picked up the AT 8 a few weeks back as a daily driver, but I'm already thinking of getting a MT as a new project car. My post count and join date may say noob, but in no way am I a noob...

To get back on track to this post, I was also thinking about getting the rotor valve stem caps for the current 8, but with the way we have to park over here in Japan I don't think they are that important to me... and I thank you for the input...

 

LOL, in case you didn't know i can read. generally "owner of 5 20bs" signals something in most people's heads with iq enough to read and type.

plus i don't care how many rotary engine's you've built from scratch in japan and swapped into the rarest FD's in the land, you still have a join date of 1 month here and 40 posts which makes you a newbie here, and i justify my statement. enough said(though i still highly respect you and hold you in high honor for your accomplishments)

 

LOL... Details, Details.... I love how people justify post count as a way of determining knowledge... but that's another rant... (That wasn't geared toward StealthFox by the way, but it's an addition to my sig)

 

again i said nothing of your knowledge, this is the second time you've been missing the point, i said you're A NEWBIE. you're completely wrong, if you do a search on something you will find the same thing repeated over and over again, if moderators and such did not enforce that then there would be so many duplicates it would be rediculous and it's a complete waste of bandwith. when people say do a search IT MEANS THE TOPIC HAS BEEN DISCUSSED AND YOUR QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED, not im too stupid to answer your question so im just going to say search.

Let me help you in the easiest way possible..

1. Read between the ( ) in my last post and chill... Also notice the wiggly etc.
2. 90% of the people who jump in to say search don't know the answer, but they get a +1 added to there post count.
3. Doesn't matter if it has been discussed before, old threads are usually not updated with new information on new parts and technology and wading threw 50 pages of crap to get an answer is not acceptable. To make matters worse the second a Nobie brings an old thread back to life you'll get the same people who said to search bitching about bringing an old thread back.

hey man to tell you the truth i'm not bothering you or trying to make you conform to rx8 rules, its just the way forums in general are, im on many other forums having to do with totally different subjects and that's how larger forums tend to be. im just telling you how it happens to work at a lot of places especially here because it is a tightly moderated forum and they are pretty tough and they hand out 3 day bans like cans of beans in iraq.

 

I guess we should just delete threads older then 30 days to keep people like you satisfied? People new to the RX-8 will learn much more reading through those 50 pages then they will by us spoon feeding them and wasting everyone else's time by creating multiple threads with the same info. And I usually keep my mouth shut and out of flame wars but you take the cake. From your second post in this thread you were combative and arrogant. Be part of the solution.

I have 18K miles and have yet to curb my rotary caps or wheels. Sorry it happened but you can't blame equipment for human error.

 

They make cool caps for your bicycle man....didn't you ever steal some for your bike...back in the day I really wanted a Corvette set...they had the cool corvette logo.

 

i bet, too bad i don't have a bike, im gonna buy a set to put on my rx7, the way the stem is positioned i don't think it will be a problem.
