I've been rocking Stance since last April.

-I have the normal black springs, not the SWIFT ones.
-My dust boots in the front are pretty much shredded as well, but very little of the shock is exposed.
-No idea about the bushings.

I got the extension cables included in my package as well, just didn't find an easy way to route them through the trunk.

Routing the cables is possible, but tricky. You just have to have help and take it slow and easy to make sure nothing gets crimped.

Ive had mine on for about 5-6k miles only driven in rain a few times. So far everything seems to be in good condition other than normal dirt from the road. Soon ill be pulling the wheels off and making some adjustments though so Ill check them a little more closey.

Yeah I didn't notice the bushings before, i was only paying attention to them this time because Paimon mentioned the problem. It's not something you will feel until the bushing have completely failed.

seeing as the powertrix design is similar I will be keeping an eye on the bushing problem.

More than similar, exactly the same aside from the color as far as I could see when fixing another members Powertrix a couple of weekends ago. But the Powertrix are a newer release I think so it's possible they have the new bushings in them.

I got the new adjusters from Stance so I will definitely check the bushings when I take them out. Hopefully I have the newer version.

Sent to Stance:

Hello;

My name is Paimon Soror and I am a member of the RX8Club forums. We have a thread dedicated to opinions on Stance coilovers and were wondering if you would like to sign up on the forums to help field some questions? It seems all of us have had the same fantastic experience with your customer support, but have some concerns over build quality of older models (GR+, rust issues, cracked bushings, etc). If you would like to join in on the conversation to help please feel free:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=232656

Another thing I noticed was that you now have a new lineup of coilovers. Do you provide any sort of upgrade discount for those of us that have older models that were looking to "trade up" to one of the newer models that seem to have resolved some of the issues we are experiencing? Thanks for your time!

Cool. I also found out that upgrading to 200mm Swift springs is very reasonable, hopefully I can order them soon.

Funny you mention it. I was at a point where I was so frustrated I almost broke down and bought a spring rate tester. I am still very intrested to find out the actual rates of the verious stance springs in the garrage.

A couple of the coil we have are not marked at all. We are guessing by measuring the thickness of the coils.

I got to take a look at the bushings today and they seem to be cracking/peeling or whatever. I didn't take any pictures though. You think they'd send me new bushing for all corners if I asked nicely? lol

I think so, take pics, send them. I mean technically it is a general safety concern if those bushings dislocate as it would start causing the shock body to move freely along the axis of the hub connecting bolt.

Btw i got a response from stance. They basically stated that they get a lot of inquiries to sign up and represent themselves on forums and such but they just don't have the time or resources to successfully communicate with everyone at every site. I assumed as much, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

If you are under warranty you should be good to go. They might ask for proof of purchase.

Still worth a shot, let them ask. They may just replace them anyway since it is a safety concern.

To be honest, I sent them a note about bushings a year ago, and I wasn't the original purchasor of the coilovers. Now I am not saying the same will work for you, but they didn't even ask me about warranty information. Like 9k and I mentioned, it is a general safety concern.

Btw, I changed brake lines this weekend and in doing so noticed something..... the Stance springs have started to have their paint crack .... so i took some flakes off, and they have started to rust! Getting my swift springs soon thanks to a forum member, and when i do I will take some pics of the rust ... surely not a good sign.

I got my new lower assemblies with the new bushings on Saturday. I will also be getting the Swift springs and I will swap the rear lower pieces out when I swap in the springs.

I sent them an e-mail via the automated form on their site and they got back to me this afternoon asking for my address. I got an e-mail 10 minutes later with a tracking for a new set of lowers/bushings for my coilovers!

Great service from Stance!
