Stance GR+ coilover review

First of all, I want to say that I am sorry for not having install pictures.
well..i do but they are all somewhat odd pictures and really don't show anything.

All I have are pics i took when fedex delivered them- https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/stance-gr-coilovers-166212/

anyhow, this was my first coilover install in any car, and had to say it took longer than I thought it would.
Thank goodness I had a buddy helping me out, yet it still took me 3~4 hours for install and another 2hours or so to adjust the darn thing. I didn't want a drastic slammed look so only dropped about an inch all around.

Everything was ok, minus couple things...
The extended adjusters in the back were rubbing against the insides of the trunk area and I had to grind about 1/8in from the adjusters. If you can, i'm sure you can grind the trunk area, but...when you do your install you'll understand why I grind the adjusters rather than the trunk area... it is covered and extremely hard to reach...
here's pic to show you what i had to grind.

I wish the cables would be little bit longer and it is somewhat annoying to reach these behind the trunk side trims.
other than this...everything was fine.

The ride quality:
this maybe different for some of you. Stance sell these with the standard 7k springs in the rear (10k in front). I ordered the rears with 6k springs.

the install manual states that out of 15 clicks, the 6th click is the recommended setting. I tried the 6th click setting in front and rear and drove for about 130 miles. This includes highway and local roads.
They are very, very good- near factory like ride. One thing that bothered me was when sometimes going over a bump or a crack in the road, the rears were making a rather loud thumping sound.
I went down to the 5th click setting for the rears and now the thumping sound is non-existent. My girlfriend who always rode shotgun with me in my car for the last 2 years cannot tell if I've even done anything to the car- it is that good. The car is not bouncy, and I can go over speed bumps with ease- you get the idea.

As in terms of cornering performance, I don't know. It has been raining pretty bad here is So. Cal. and I don't intend to testout my new coilovers in the rain.
I do plan on attending a track event in Streets of Willowsprings raceway in the near future, so I'll write a separate review on that.

Hope this review helps some of you fellow rx8 owners out there thinking of getting stance coilovers.

Thank's for the write up. Just curious, are these able to be adjusted so that they are at, or close to stock ride height? I know they had a problem when they first made them where the minimum drop was over an inch all around.

I'm kinda confused, why did you decide to grind the top parts again?

yes. when i initially installed the fronts (at maximun height) they were actually about 2inches higher than stock.
max high setting of the rears should come out to something close to stock height...

when fully installed and tightened, the darn thing was rubbing somewhere here and thus would not turn. I didn't have something that could reach in there to grind out the metal....so i just grinded the ****/adjuster.

btw. can someone recommend me a good alignment setting for a car that sees a track about 4~5 times a year.
I don't have to break the track record and don't want to go through new sets of tires every 6 months...

i was thinking -2 and zero toe in front, -1.5 and 1/8 toe in for rear. oh, also caster 6 deg.
thanks in advancd.
