SSR what offset?

So i was thinking of going with either the type c or type f.

they are lightweight wheels and can help in our underpowered 8's
i was thinking maybe 18 or 19 inch wheels, they range from 18 - 20 pounds per wheel.
maybe doing 8.5 and 9.5 widths. i'm not sure, on these lightweight racing wheels i was thinking of maybe not staggering and doing all around same.

i was wondering what offsets i should do? what works best?
i can't really decide between colors. bronze, silver, gold, flat black? oh the possibilites.

9.5 45ish offset works
Buy 18" unless you want limited choices for tires at a premium price

What color is the car?

and don't stagger if you don't want to alter the balance of your car.

I think his is Red. IMHO any of those will look good on a VR so it's really personal preference. If you're looking for attention get the gold otherwise go flat black. +1 on not staggering.

Just floated over to TR. Are those type F SSRs new or is Tirerack just starting to carry them? I don't remember seeing them last time I was window shopping.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

Definitely go that route. Not gonna see many 8s with them if they're new. 18x8.5 is gonna keep you happy.

^^^Good luck on that......They Might fit OK on the front...but lowered with normal camber they will rub on the back outside corner.....without a good roll

You would be much better staying around the 45ish offset area with a 9.5 to be safe..especially with wide tires..

that's funny, i have 19x9.5 +36 volks in the back and have no problems at all. my work wheels are18x9.5 +38 all around and i have plenty of room to do a 18x9.5 +30. i drive it daily in MD, track it whenever i have time, and don't have a problem at all.

That depends on the dish and a few other things. If you get into those +30 ish offsets you need to try them on the car to be sure...otherwise you can be in for a surprise. That's why I always tell people to stay in the +40-50 area The brakes in the front can cause problems with some dishes

The 10.5" wheels that I have just barely fit with a +43 offset.....

yes, but i wouldn't give him some BS sizes. the stock calipers, front and back, are nearly flush with the rotor hub. maybe a 4mm difference. so a super low disk wheel would fit without a problem.

obviously he likes the type-f and type-c based on those pictures. to achieve that look he would need to get the sizes i posted up.

Any photos of this? I tried a 18x9 29 offset and it was too wide.

Cool Love the gold Type F's !!

I love the gold Type F's for my Shinka edition (Black Cherry).
I want the 18 x 9, but don't know what offset. I've seen #'s for 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5, but nothing for 18 x 9.
Apparently, it only comes in the following offsets: 32, 40, 50.
Anyone out there have any answers?
Many thanks,
Rod

if you get a roll/pull anything within reason will fit easily under our fenders and 1/4's. I'm running 17x10 + 25 with lots of room to spare

Actually, going with the 265/35.
I spent a large portion of my workday today [no comment] talking to Tanabe (owners of SSR) and various official dealers of SSR. All of them said the RX8 can go with anything between 40 and 45, with 42 being preferred. I guess that means I'm going with the +40 offset. I think the 32's would stick out way too much, but I'm open to opinions / pictures if you've got 'em.

Looks like I've got time since SSR is out of that rim in the US and any dealer I use will have to order from Japan (about 4 to 8 wks).
