Five Axis Design S5:F Gunmetal/Matte Silver?

Hey guys, newbie here. Short time lurker, first time poster. I'm looking to get an RX8 in TiG soon.

Question is, has anyone fitted the Five Axis Design S5:F in either Gunmetal or Matte Silver to their TiG? The wheels themselves look badass, but I am not sure how they work with the TiG.

http://www.fivead.net/wheels/s5f_spec.html

I'd love to see what it looks like before I decide to do it. Anyone?

They look decent...But you would have to get them wider than 8", and with a aggressive offset so they will look good and have some concave to them.

hmmm - can't say i'm a fan of the design - i believe i've seen a set of these at a local shop though. Not sure how they would work on a stock 8.

agreed with topgear though - if you get em' - make sure to go wider than 8" with a good offset to sit them closer to the fender. Fortunately, they have some pretty good sizes and offsets.

i don't think these'll look good tucked...

Wow, I'm a complete noob to all these measurements. Can someone please enlighten me on what the various numbers denote?

What size and offsets do you guys recommend with these wheels?

Would like to get 18's. But they only go out to 8.5? Would consider getting 19's and they go out to 10.5 would that be too much?

Also, I'm just kinda confused about the bolt pattern. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

You want to pick wheels that have the 5x4.5 bolt pattern first off. For 8.5 width you want at least 25 offset (run 245 width tires) for 9.5 width you want at least 35 (265 or 275 tires). The 10.5 width I forsee giving you problems fitting any decent sized tire because the offset is too low. You can get wheels that have a lower offset (makes the wheels sit farther out of the wheel well) than I mentioned, but you will have to either change your wheel alignment, run skinnier/shorter tires, or do some bodywork. Look in the aggressive wheel fitment thread to see what I am talking about.

They need to put a grill in the bumper and cover up the air filter because it looks like crap.

I like the wheels, but that fender is messed up.

So the higher numerical value of the offset, the further out the wheel will sit? Or is it the opposite?

So if I were to get the 19x9.5, I have a choice of 25, 35, 45 offsets. Would an offset of 35 get the wheels flush? Would 25 push it out beyond the fender?

9.5 + 35 will be close to flush and will need the fenders rolled if you want 265/30/19 or 275/30/19 tires. 9.5 +45 you may be able to get away with not rolling your fenders but the wheels will not be as flush. Maybe get the +45 all around and run a 10mm spacer in the rear (ie 35 in the rear and you can still rotate tires)? The 25 offset is doable, but you will not be able to run anything beyond 255 wide tires and will require some work. It won't be simply throw them on.

First off, thanks for all your feedback. I really appreciate it. I don't have much experience in the way of aftermarket wheels.

If I wanted the wheels to be flush, but not have to roll my fenders, should I go with 18's? Also, with all this offsetting, will it adversely affect the handling of the car?

Your handling will be fine and you WILL have to roll the fenders to get them flush.

if you get 18x8.5+25 offset they will be almost flush and no fender roll if you run 245/40r18 tires even when lowered

Interesting... Does he have full stop-to-stop motion of steering? Or do his tires rub?
