Springs and Warranty?
Ok, I want to get some springs for my 8, and before i go inquiring at the dealership about it and potentially create problems for myself, I will ask the almighty forum users' opinions.
If I get, lets say for arguments sake, Tein H-Tech springs, will this void my warranty? It is a lease car, but I have it for another 4 years, so length of time isnt an issue. I just dont want to take the car in for, god forbid, some warranty work and they see its lowered and give me **** about it?
If it will, i guess i'll have to fork out the $$ for the MS springs and mazda to install them.

If you are in a leaser, you definitely should inquire about getting them to install MazdaSpeed springs. They WILL notice if you put anything else on it if you take it to them. And if you agreement says you can't modify the car, they will call you on it. If they do it, you might be able to work out a deal.
Unless, of course, you want to change the springs every time you go in...

UPDATE
This is in Tampa, FL btw.
Called Ferman Mazda on Florida and they were very **** about it. They said if I installed aftermarket springs that it would void my suspension warranty. Then told me that MS front springs were 120 each and rears were 125 each. And all 4 to install was around 450 bux!
Called Ferman Mazda in Brandon and the Service Manager said he's never denied anybody because of aftermarket parts. That as long as it didnt damage the frame or wiring and were installed properly, that he saw no problem with it.
Guess i'll be going to Ferman in Brandon from now on.
Just goes to show ya, call around to multiple dealerships before accepting the advice/opinions of one.

I have the MS springs and shocks coming, but will most likely be calling the dealers to do the install. I'm looking for the best experience I can with a quality shop. I wish I could do the install myself, but don't have the resources to pull this one off.
As for warranty, the only thing that will not be covered are your springs since they are not Mazda's. But if your shocks fail, and they blame it on your springs, your out of luck. That is why I went MazdaSpeed on mine.

The shocks issue may or may not be a legit beef for them, though. If you significantly change the spring rate on the stock shocks, you'll change the suspension tuning to a point where it might cause premature shock wear (also possibly tire cupping, and bad ride/handling in extreme cases).
Of course, changing the unsprung weight in a significant way (although if there's major room for reduction in the non-astronomical price range, we may have all overpaid for these cars....), could cause similar issues, though, and they may or may not try to nail someone for that.

Don't plan on "slamming" the car, just want to get rid of that unsightly front wheel gap. Was thinkin og goin with the Tein springs, seems like lots have had go0d experience with them.
If i get the Tein H-tech springs, should the shocks be replaced as well?
I woulda gone MS springs if it wasnt gonna cost me $1k to do it.
