TX Are springs powder coated or painted?

I have a set of Megan springs that I fell into and I would like to swap out the rears with my basically new Teins just to see how much a of a difference in the rear it makes (my teins sit unusually high in the rear due to the KYB shocks).

The Megans have some cracks in the finish. Should I have them bead blasted and painted? Or powder coated? But i would think it would need to flex. Even if I only have them on for a few months until the turbo is on and I get coilovers I would still like to have them fixed up in case I sell them to someone else.
