That config. will compromise the drivability of the 8. She is not a Drag Car... Why would you want to set her up as one? The cornering will be lost greatly and the 8 will fell very slippery, worse than the 350Z (Lubbed Brick). I would go 20*8.5 all the way round. I have 19*8.5 & think I would have rather gotten 20's too. They look so tuff and I don't think they compromise the ride much at all, but you need to not go to wide and the 8 is not a friend of the staggered set-up.
Just My Opinion Bro!

Oh yeah.. Springs… I think you could get away with the MazdaSpeed Shock and Spring set-up. About 1” drop all around and the ride is no where as stiff as I have seen reported around here.

I would go with the tien stech they give the 8 a nice drop especially if you are going with 20s.

While I was looking at everyone's set up people do get staggered but the usually get it at 9.5 so I was thinking 10 wouldnt be that much a problem (If VIVID PM's me back by today I might buy those Esprilers)

If you can support the fact that it the ride would be siginifigantly different then maybe I will change my mind.

Support with other posts? No. Support in the fact that I have drivin in an 8 with a Stagg set-up? No.
I just know that the stagg set-up is designed for Drag and straiught launching. My buddy as Stangs and they all are like that... for that reason. The 8 was engineered for handling... not for launching. It stands to logical reason that the Stagg config will not compliment it. My opinion... as I said... ask you local wheel & Tire Specialist... I am betting they will tell you the same.

ok.... I have 19x8.5 in front and 19x10 in back... ohh no I have the staggered wheels!!!!! I don't plan to Auto cross my car with these wheels on there, I will use the 17x7.5 stock wheels off my mazda 3 ( I'll be using these becuase my stock 18's off the 8 are now on the 3) .... I like the look of the staggered wheels and the fitment and ride is great, if anything I get a little bit better traction when I pull a turn hard.... I also have a set of Taunabi springs on the car which drop it just enough to still fit the wheels and not worry about any fender rubbing.... SO if you want to do a staggered 20's setup then I say do it... if you like the way it looks then great... I am attaching a pic of my STAGGERED 19's below!!! :-)

staggered is no big deal, if you really need to investigate do a search, the topic has been beaten to death. I run the kazera's in 8.5 front and 9.5 back and it handles as good if not better (probably better as more tire hits the pavement now) than the stockers, all this on s-techs.
