So new tires... need advice on price etc

Hi all,

I have a new RX8, only 4000 miles on it, ive heard that replacing the OEM tires wil lead to a much quieter ride quality. I'm not really in need to winter tires, or extreme performance tires.

What could you guys suggest? Something that rides a LOT quieter, has the same or better performance, and wont cost me an arm and a leg? As a side question, what is a "normal" price to pay for "normal" tires for the RX8?

Thanks!
Jeff

Avon tyres are AWESOME and you can get them at a great price from www.tirerack.com.

They are all season but handle quite well... only negative is a bit of loss of connection with the road. BUT, MUCH QUIETER and handle without a slip in the cold rain.

Will be writing a review when I get them on the snow and see how they do...

So far, I am very happy ...

My 2004 came with the Dunlap SP Sport 8090s. AT 13000 miles, they have 50% of the tread gone. My dealer even sent me a notice after my last service. So I'm starting to plan for replacements.

Interesting, I just looked at the tirerack.com reviews and five of the seven reviewers are RX8 drivers.

These Dunlops are the most expensive at about $250 US each.

I just replaced my stock Bridgestones at 16K miles. They were so loud you really had to crank up the stereo. Based on some research, and wanting some all season performance tires at a good price, I went with the Kumho Ecsta ASX tires in 245/40/18. Got them from TireRack. Turns out I got excellent advice from this board. These tires make absolutely NO noise and have very good grip on both dry and wet pavement.
