RX-8 is my first RWD car but have a question.

i got my RX-8 about 4 weeks ago now and have logged about 2000 kms on it since then.

my question is that the steering seems to be a bit fidgety on smooth roads- it's like hitting a rut in the road or a small pot hole and the steering will pull left/right. the roads in our city are fairly pot-hole free, but they are grooved.

is this normal for an RWD car / the RX-8?

i checked all tire pressures (cold) and they are fine.

Thanks.

It sounds like you are experiencing normal tramlining due to our wide tires. You'll get used to it over time.

That and it's rack & pinion steering, not full power steering, so you will feel every nook and cranny in the road.

Are you getting a wider tyre or jump from a tyre with less than 195mm width. That could explain it then
