If so, could you list the size, price, ....and where'd you find'em.

Hey, I'm from Copperas Cove! Anyways, I would say check out Discount Tire on HWY 190. I personally don't have "run-flats" but they gave me good deal on my Falken's.

There are several run flat options available in the 245/45/18 size. They range in price 227.00 to 400.00 each. Keep in mind a run flat tire is harder to replace in a hurray due to the fact not to many shops carry them in stock. They also tend to have a harder ride quality than a standard tire.

I have a 245/45/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 runflat. They are heavier, harder, handling is just a little better, but for $300 for all 4 brand new (ebay) I can't complain.

coner what about those new potenza run flats that will be optional for the MX-5. RE50 RFT i think?

The RE050 tires offer good dry and wet traction but the run flat models wear extremely fast and tend to be very noisy. They are also provide a very hard ride. They come as original equipment on a few different cars. Personally i would not recommend them unless you are trying to match or replace an OE tire, or unless you are limited by size.

The runflat version of the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S is about 50% again pricier than its non-runflat version, but seems to review well (certainly better than the OEM Bridgestones). If I can keep my wife from killing me in my sleep, these would be the ones I'd most like to have when my OEMs wear out.

lol currently im running 225/40/18 bridgestone runflats, 5e50a.... they are aight... they were a bitch to put on the rims because of the low profile stiff sidewall... however they were free because i jacked them from a tire store dumpster... so no complaints

i use 255/35R18 Bridgestone RE050A RFT (stockers for BMW 335i, 330i, and Z4). i get them free from work (used of course). they have very good traction in wet and dry. cornering is very tight (i have wider wheels and modified suspension too). i've even taken these on the track and they hold up very very well.

but like conner said, they do wear a bit faster and are a littlle noisy. i can't complain tho...i get 'em for free.

I got my runflats (245/40R18 instead of the OEM size) installed last August but wanted to wait until I had the chance to really see how they were before posting a follow-up. I decided to go with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S RFT. I got a very agreeable price for them (about $25 more than the regular P-Zero Nero M&S at the same shop).

First the pros:

1. They're runflats!
2. They have great wet-weather grip and resistance to hydroplaning
3. They don't feel like I'm driving on an oil slick when the temps are in the 40s (F) in the morning like the OEM tires did
4. They are much quieter than the OEM tires
5. They have a 400 tread wear rating, so they should last a long time

The cons:

1. They are pretty harsh on bad potholes
2. They don't have that nice protective lip that's supposed to help protect the rim from curb rash that the OEM tires had
3. I decided to get the version with the higher treadwear rating (it's my year-round daily driver), so I gave up some speed rating (H rated instead of the pricier V rated version) and dry grip
