Rear Tires Rubbing?

I'm hearing a rubbing sound coming from the rear end. I have wheels and tires that fit stock specs. what could this be??

Have you taken the tires off to see where they are rubbing? There should be some indication on the inside or on the fender if they are. Are you sure it's the tires rubbing?

no i havent taken them off. i recently got new tires so i would have guessed that the peeps at jensen would have noticed signs of rubbing from my old tires...ive heard the rubbing before the new tires...BUT no i'm not absolutely sure that's what it is. it just sounds a lot like tire rub. it only happens when im accelerating from a stop while turning (red light, or pulling into my driveway).

When does the rubbing happen? Turning right or left? Bumps? Your new tires are 225/45/18?

My Mazda 6i rubs only when i turn right on this street near my house (it's a hilly turn, maybe that's why). Anyway, my rx8 doesn't rub at all and on that street. Both of my cars are sunk and i have stock wheels and tires.

I had a "rubbing" noise after a few months of ownership of my 8. It only happened when I would take a very slow right or left hand turn, close to full lock. It turned out to be that my diff needed to have its fluid replaced and they also added a friction modifier.
