This is what happens when a $30,000 car depreciates into the price bracket and demographic of ricers. Yeah, sure I picked mine up used, but you're not gonna see me put eBay garbage on my car, especially home-brew hack job eBay garbage! If you can't afford to buy good ****, save your money until you can afford it, or just keep the car stock, or better yet- sell it and buy a Honda. I think the engineers at Mazda and aftermarket companies MIGHT just know what the hell they're doing when it comes to suspension setups, what with a substantial R&D budget and all that (i.e. more expensive equipment than a hacksaw with a dull blade is needed).

So, a local guy bought a pretty beat up RX-8 used and was having some suspension issues. Apparently the spring had been cut just a tad

I picked up my car used. Was told it had lowering springs. Come to find out mine are also cut. Rides and corners good but I eventually want to put some Megan racing coil covers on mine.

I say do what you like and what you can afford (within the lines of safety of course) no matter what you do to your car someone will have something bad to say, you could cut your coils or you could save for a year and buy a $2000 set of full racing coilovers, either way people are going to hate. I personally think the stance looks nice and I also agree with the other comment that says get some spacers. If you're just going for looks and have no real desire to do track days or autox then what the hey, you achieved the look you were after for nothing more than a few hours of work! The folks with a mommy and daddy budget don't understand that some of us, myself included, have to work for what we have and don't always have money for the newest greatest fashion accessories for our cars. As I said in the beginning, you do what you like, it's your money and your car. Unless someone else is financing your build I wouldn't give 2 F's what anyone says and since you posted it i dont believe you do! Just my $0.02 worth
