NJ Range in Rubber 4 stock Rims

Hi there, I've got an '04 GT (sport suspension):
Anyone know the max/min tire width i can use on 18x8 (stock/summer) and 17X7 (winter) wheels?
Dont need aspect ratios & i don't have mods like lowering, spacing, etc.
Thank you!

245 on a 18x8 is the max
But-- your handling will suffer with larger diameter tire. (tire roll)

Winter tire you want to have a smaller diameter to help with traction through snow/ slush/ etc... so smaller is better

215 is the min on an 8" rim.

not 225. 225 is the suggested width.

and thats reasonable minimum.

the absolute minimum is probably a 185. max is a 295.

Wouldn't 255 fit on a 18x8 wheel also? Of course steering response will suffer but it still fits, no?

Of course it fits. Like I said my friend had 285's on the stock rims and i refused to ride in the car. Manufacturers have suggested rim sizes for a reason...

Sure... go with 215 on the stock rims. No handling difference whatsoever

I said 225 min because thats what is supposed to be on the car ESPECIALLY for summer tires, which he was asking for.

For all I care you could stretch 165's on the stock wheels.
