Why would somebody pick those over OEM when needing to replace rotors? Any measurable benefits? I'm going to need rotors pretty soon, so if you had any data on those rotors, I'd appreciate you sharing!

1. They are cheaper (in price) to purchase.
2. They stop just as good if not even better.
3. If cross drilled and slotted rotors didnt work a tad better, pros wouldnt use them. BTW I recognized, being honest here, a 20% harder bite with these rotors.
4. Measurable benefits, non that I know of unless you are talking weight as a measurement... and to tell you the truth, and you can even ask RENESIS that was there doing my install, that these rotors weigh at least -5lbs less than stock!!! Thats a lot of weight loss!!! A total of 24lbs

edit: these come painted black and look sexy as hell!!! not all rusty like the OEM....

I'm asking: For these R-1 Concepts - Is there any data that shows how they perform compared to OEM?

1. Cheaper than ~$120 each for the fronts?
2. How so? What's better?
3. That's a logical fallacy friend. The pros use equipment which works for them on a racetrack. Most of us don't have corporate sponsors to replace cracked or broken or otherwise bad parts from the stress of racing. We buy parts, in large part, we intend to keep for more than a few track session
4. Yes. I'm talking about actual benefit in stopping distances or fade resistance. 'at least' 5lbs less than stock? What's the actual weight? Reducing mass can reduce a rotor's ability to handle heat. BTW, if they are 5lbs less than stock, that's a 20lbs savings, bro .

Ah gotcha, didnt realize you were asking about these rotors specifically. I'd be interested in data as well for these compared to RB and others

I searched the R1 website and couldn't find much as I was curious what they had to offer and what research and development they had completed or what benefits they had over others.

I then looked at Racing Brake and they have tons of information on what their rotors are all about and why they are better. Not just a sentence or two, I am talking pages of information and data about what they do. When I called and talked to Racing Brake, hands down best customer service and knowledge seen. Stoptech would not even take the time to talk to me.

Check them out for yourself:

http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/technology.asp

http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/faq.asp

http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/product_features.asp

http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/manufacturing.asp

http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/product_knowledge.asp

Plenty of information to go over and review.

It was no contest for me to decide what brake system was going on my car and which I would distribute.

^^^^Why dont you Call R1-Concepts like you did RacingBrake and ask them about their rotors? Im sure they'll let you know. Dont deflect R1-Concepts by using StopTechs bad customer service.....thats a no...no...

Dude - you've got your rotors on the wrong side of the car! They should spin open-side forward - like this:

(at least true for stop tech)

That is unless the cooling vanes are going the right way...just double check, aight?

LOL, give the guy a break, he was just excited. Nice lookin rotors. In Zumn's case it doesnt really matter whether or not these rotors are as good/better quality than RB, its not like he Autox/tracks his 8. They are pretty much for show, and will do fine for DD use... they look great.

Theres no DIY fail here. When I swapped the rotors to the correct sides, I took DIY pics and will make the DIY later today after I get sleep.

"Enkei RP-F1 17x9, 45mm offset 5x114, 15 pounds, $249"

That's "1" expensive pound I'd say, @ an extra $251 each for the pleasure of it!
