"Painted" my wheels

So I've been wanting to try this out now for a while after seeing a few threads around here. I've always wondered what my car would look black on black and this was the easiest way to see if I liked it. I went out and bought some plasti dip and went to town today

First one

Testing it out

Got smart and made some ghetto 3X5 cards

and a comparison of front to back(also dipped the lugs for added effect)

so far I like it and I'm thinking further down the road after I peel this stuff off i might go out an get em powder coated and now the break down

Time: 3 hours(dinner break)
Cost: $13
Overall effect:

glad I did it and for a first time shooter it wasn't too bad, now lets see how long it stays on

Not bad, a local guy did them also and I saw them they look good just wish the stuff was as smooth as paint.

Yea same but I mean it is spray on plastic lol. I don't mind the flat black appearance though

It would look great since your brake color is red.

you might be spraying it on too thick. When I did mine I only put on one good coat over everything

Mine finally chipped this week and started peeling off on one of the wheel spokes this weekend after 3 months of use. they hold up pretty good!

I'm constantly worried about accidentally bumping them or rubbing them and making it chip. Have you gone through a car wash with them before?

You can buy red wheel nuts at autozone for about $20 I think. if not use the rest of the brake caliper paint. I painted the brake calipers and the center and outer edge of the discs and still used less then half the paint.

I've powerwashed them before at the car wash but no constant spraying of the hose on them. One thing I will say is brake dust, although you cant see it, is still there and its always good to get like a rag and some soap and gently scrub them.

I washed them for the first time yesterday and I know what you mean about the breakdust. It's only been a week since I had them painted and it was caked on there already.
