Work wheels mounted

Since the stock 18 x 8 wheels are +50, would a 18 x 8 wheel with a +51 offset and a 18 x 9 with a +63 offset be okay. I did this offset calculator and it said that the wheels would be moved in 1mm toward the body. Is this 1mm not okay, should I use a spacer if I get wheels with these offsets?

Here are the wheels that I'm looking at: Work Meister S2Rs. I haven't seen any mention of these wheels in the forums yet.

Here is the Japanese webpage:

I don't think it would need a spacer. There was a thread somewhere, I'll find a link to it, that said they could run a 245 without a spacer. Since you're looking for 18 x 9.5 JJ in the rear, the stock setting should suffice.

I would say use a lower offset and the wheels come out a little more so you can get a wider stance for the car which will also increase your traction when used with the correct tires.

Works wheels, size

The thread below had information about the wheel offset and tire size that will fit the 8.

I was looking at the Works wheels also and I don't think you see much about them because they are expensive. As you probably know they will build a wheel to fit whatever spec you want which of course is not cheap. I also have not found to many dealers carrying them that are very helpful. If you find someone who is good enough to recommend and reasonable on pricing let us know.

The Work Meister S2Rs are on my 8, and they look great :-). As soon as I get some pics I'll post 'em up. I haven't seen anyone else with these wheels yet, which I like :D

Work wheels

They look great!

If you don't mind telling us how much did the wheels run & what size did you go with?

Also, did you notice a big difference in the cars driving behavior?

THX!

Thanks, I think I'm the only 8 so far with these wheels. The wheel sizes are 18 x 8 and 18 x9 with offsets of +51 and +63. They may seem high, but the front is only 1mm in towards the car and I currently have a 3mm spacer on the back, I might go with a 5mm later. I got a kick-*** deal for these wheels/tires for only $800!!!!! They came off an S2000 that was driven by a girl, and she curbed the sh_t out of these wheels! But I'm having them repaired at a pretty good price for all 4.

The tires had about 70% tread life and the wheels had pretty bad curb damage. But JDM light-weight, forged, staggered wheels that are very unique, and Nitto NT555R tires for only $800? I couldn't pass it up.

Yes, you did very well!

I looked at about 6 different styles in the Work line-up and most were from around $400 to $800 per wheel, and that is with no tires!
