Need Opinions/Help choosing between 4 sets of wheels.

I've finally saved the money to get some decent wheels for my '05 Winning Blue GT.

I have searched, and havd found a couple of good photos, and a few opinions on 3 of these wheels. I am having a hard time deciding. It would really help to get some pics, and/or the opinions of those who have used these wheels.

I have a budget of $300 a wheel or less. These are for daily use only, no track use at all. The roads aren't terrible here, but i still want something pretty sturdy. At least as much so as stock.

OK here they are, all three are in 18x8.5 and in silver:

Enkei RP03
Eknei OR52
Enkei RPF1
5zigen Fn01r-c

Problem is there are ups and downs to all three:

-The RPF is the lightest by far, but im not %100 sold on the looks. Also, not sure on how they would stand up for daily use.

-The RP03s are the heaviest, but i really like the looks of these the best..They look pretty durable too.

-The OR52s look pretty good, are a little lighter than stock at 21lbs, and are on sale for $110 a piece. Problem is i cant seem to find any pics of these on a rx8,. Also i don't know how well these will stand up to the riggers of the road. I read somewhere before that there are major quality diferences between the race series enkei wheels, and other lines such as this.

-The 5zigen Fn01r-c wheels are nice looking, my 2nd favorite of the bunch. They seem well built, and at 20lbs shave 2lbs off the stock wheel weight.

Thanks ahead of time!! Any pics and personal experiences will help a lot

I'm %99 they all support tpms. I called edgeracing about the or52, and they told me that these accept tpms. As for the other 3, i have seen consistent evidence in these forums that they also support tpms.

add another vote for RPF1-
if you want to see a bunch of rx8s with wheels in them, go to the multimedia gallery and check out Wolverines thread on the 'Super Autobacs and JDM pics'...

theres some amazing photos of 8s with various wheels

I think the RPO3's look the best by far, but if you are looking for performance upgrades, the RPF1's are what most people on this board are doing....best bang for the buck some claim.

Endless Rotaries has a group buy/specials thingy going on right now in the Vendors section if you decide with the RPF1's.

OK well i narrowed it down to three, and got rid of the or52 from consideration. THEN i saw these OZ Ultraleggras at Tirerack. I am now considering those as well They seem really light, and i have personal experience with OZ Racing wheels from my last car.

The RP-F1's have the 'serious..mature'....performance look
just check out how many track guys use them
I was not crazy about the looks at first, but they grow on you

Thanks for the help guys!

I ended up ordering the 18x9.5 45mm RPF1 from Endless Rotaries at the special rx8club price Got a set of the autornd forged (silver) lugs too. I figured i would wait to get the center caps. Once i see these installed, I will just see how bad it bothers me not to havethe caps.

I plan is to mount some 245/40/18 General Exclaim UHPs on these. Had those one my Scion TC, and they were great. Actually useable in the winter, with a smooth ride and better then stock handling. A little soft, but riding these out on 9.5 rims should help.

245 is a bit narrow for 9.5 inch wide rims.

According the Endless Rotaries, the 245/40 will be fine on 18x9.5s. Would actually give the tires even more support than on a lesser rim.

Got my rpf1 18x9.5 rims installed today. Thanks to Davis Moore Mazda in Wichita. Service was great as usual!

Got the rims installed, with 245/40/18 General Exclaim UHPs. Used AutoRND Forged lugs. Looks and feels great so far. Havent got to drive it much, since i dropped it off this morning before work, and picked it up at lunch.

Only thing is, i might end up getting the center caps unless there are some alternative ones that fit. I dont like seeing the rust through the center of the wheel.

I'll post pics possibly this weekend.

paint the centers in silver and you'll never notice.

Moostafa bought the center caps, you could look at pics of his.

I have a set of these wheels as well, no center caps.

Yikes. Spring for the center caps. Nice wheels but they look stolen!
