MazdaSpeed Springs With 40th A.E. Bilstein or Mazda Speed Shocks?

Hi,
Couldn't find any direct input specifically A & B'ing the subject. Does anyone have any experience using the MS spring with OEM Bilstein's &/or MS shocks? Which did you prefer & why? Any valuable comments or observations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have a 40th edition and I recently went through all the BS to find out whats different with our suspension.

In the front - nothing has changed

In the rear, Mazda raised the perch height by 15mm and increased the shock length by 10mm.

This sucks because we are now limited to the OEM Bilstein's or Koni 8240-1280 Sport shocks.

With that (and I will confirm this next week) our spring length in the rear is also different the the NON-Bilstein RX8's.

So the bottom line, use your OEM springs or buy coilovers.

If you talk to Racing Beat they will tell you that their springs do not match the Bilstein suspension and from my understanding the Mazdaspeed springs are identical in length to the RB's.

I will be pulling the suspension out of my 40th Ann next week and I will compare some measurements and report back.

I haven't pulled my suspension out but plan to in the next week or so.

I ordered coilovers and just got the parts in a few days ago.

Once the OEM springs are out I will take the measurements and report back.

Can anyone confirm whether the MS springs can be used on a 40th anniversary?

yes. All rx8 lowering springs will work on all factory shocks.

If you have a 40th, i reccomend the sprint springs. 2inch drop, perfect ride height. I parked alittle close to the curb with my front lip today and i was happy to find out my lip cleared it with like 5mm

IMHO MS springs are not worth the cost, and springs in general are not worth the cost if you are not installing them yourself. I was charged 400 to install them and i got my set used for sub 300
