Looking for 17x9.5 or 17x10 wheels
Since you can't search on '17', I must apologize if this question has been brought up already.
Ok, I figure it's going to be a while to find someone that makes a wide wheel that fits the 8 in the size I'm looking for that clears the brakes.
Price not an issue, who makes 17x9.5 or 17x10 wheels that will clear the 8s brakes? Please do not post anything other than 17x9.5 or 17x10... I'm not interested in 16s/18s/19s or 20s.. just these two sizes and widths.
I'm thinking anything with 35 or greater offset would be fine... but might need to be 40. (Correct me if the offset is too low for that wide a wheel)
If you know of a wheel that will fit, please post. If you know where I can get it stateside, also please post the contact info of the shop I can get them from.
I'm looking forward at next year racing already, and I need to get a few ducks in a row to make it happen.
Thanks,

OK I know you asked for 17X9.5 or bigger.... I have seen the 17X8 Volks on an RX8. The car that Noll drives had some 17X8 Volks off of an Evo on it early in the year with 275-40-17 V710s. So they will clear. I dont think going wider will cause a problem with the brakes as most times the spokes are what hits. Hit up one of you local Mustang, Subi or EVO guys with big wheels for a test fit.
Ready to run back to ST land after only one year? :D

Kodiak Racing will make you a wheel up to 17" x 14" wide!!! Of course they are $539.00ea for that size. 17x10 is around $500. You download a full spec sheet, start listing your exact requirements and you get a custom forged wheel.

Only downside is they are in BC, Canada. I know of a couple guys that used to run Formula Atlantics that used the wheels and had great service from them though.
You can also get HRE in that size, mega bucks. Or you can go with CCW at around $2K a set, so same price as Kodiak, they are also custom made to order. The only style you can get in your size would be the Classics - 3 pc forged.

Yeah, I know about Kodiak and CCW. I was looking more for an off the shelf option before having to resort to custom wheels.
I've found some 5Zigens that look like they might fit the bill. I have an e-mail out to them to find out if the centerbore/wheels are 8 friendly. They have some 17 x 8 fitments for the 8.
And about clearing brakes... I think there are some BBKs out there that are more shallow than the 8s stock calipers, but have more force... and they'd be legal in STU also.
