i had all 4 corners replaced with Hawk HPS pads about a month ago. the dealer said they machined the rotors as well for the install.

they squeak a lot - but as with the squeaky OEM pads, they don't squeak if i slam on the brakes.

theY even squeak when i'm not using the brakes - which the OEMs didn't do.

any suggestions?

Look up beding brakes.....and do it. It should help, It did for me.

I get the odd squeek from mine ( HPS as well), not enough to bother me though.

Do you find the dust has decreased?

Mine has...but I am getting more dust on the rear than before....go figure :D

What are the warning tickets for?? :D

i think the dust has decreased, but like you, the rears got worse - they're not all black, but just worse.

yeah, i got a warning on my b-day on the UBC highway, but i was doing like 87km/h in the 80 zone.

got one in tofino too, but it was for doing 80 in a 70.

next pull-over will be a ticket

You can bed your brakes anytime. Some pads will require re-bedding occasionally if they aren't driven at there normal operating temp...ie high heat pads will scrub off the boundary layer if drivin cold too long

They probably didnt use enough antisqueal grease on the metal piston plate.

I had success with removing both plates all together and just letting the piston touch the pad directly.

first of all, you MUST bed in the brakes properly, as should say on the pad's box or in the instructions. something like half a dozen slow stops, then half a dozen medium speed rolling stops, then half a dozen high speed (60+) slam stops, then let the brakes cool for 1/2-hr, I seem to recall. good luck finding a place to do this (AND get away with it).

second, the squeak eventually goes away on the HPS's. anti-squeal lube doesn't help much in my experience, it just gets forced out of all the contact points like instantly and only remains on all the surfaces that do not get contacted. make sure your retainers are not scraping the rotor. on another car I had to modify mine to make sure they did not scrape the rotor and screech. and make SURE piston was pushed ALL the way into the caliper during the install (hint - take off the master cylinder's cap and use a big vise grip).

third, HPS's are worthless crap. throw them away. HP+'s are not too expensive, dust no more than the HPS, squeal a little more cold, but have much more bite.
