KW V3 Speed Sensor Wires

Hey

Just installed some KW V3 recently and had the front right speed sensor DTC code read when my abs/traction control lights came on for no reason.

When i looked at it the wire seems to get stretched when the car is in full lock, i followed the KW instruction on to route the wire between the external reservoir and the actual coilover.

Has anyone experienced this? What did you do to overcome it?

Regards
Jason

Are you sure you didn't mount them backwards? If you get the reservoir on the wrong side it can do funny things to the braking, and perhaps the wiring. If I recall correctly, the reservoir should be in front of the center of the wheel, when you are looking straight at the (front) wheel from the outside of the car. Could have that backwards, but I mounted mine wrong once and was surprised what it did.

The other thing you may have done is stretched the ABS sensor cables or otherwise damaged them during the install.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

When you said they need to face the front, are you inferring the reservoirs pointing towards the front bumper or towards the rim?

Towards the front bumper *I think*. It's been a while since I had V3s on my car, but that is my recollection. Just double check the directions and make sure you have them oriented correctly.

I also seem to recall having the ABS cable routed outside the reservoir (which would mean on the "bumper" side of the reservoir assuming my orientation is correct), not between the reservoir & shock body.

Just checked mine. My reservoirs are pointing towards the front bumper. No idea on the abs line though.
