Kuhmo XS Tires 225/45/18 vs 225/40/18?

Hey guys, ill be purchasing a set of Kuhmo XS tires for my OEM wheels in a couple days...just dont know if i should get them in the oe
225/45/18 size or 225/40/18...i heard the the thinner 40's will add a little more response.....can anyone chime in and tell me some positves and negative difference between the two....thanks

I had those tires in a 245/40r18, they were awesome tires, grippy as hell. They were decent in the wet as well but be careful in rain if the outside temps are under ten degrees celcius.
