How do the TMPS's work?

hello I am a little confused, try to follow if you can

I had my 4 oem wheels on my 8. A giant pothole took out both tires and rims on the right side of the car.

I bought aftermarket wheels and rode on those.

I am now trading the car and want to put the oem's back for the trade off. I have two good ones with the TMPS's on. And I bought another two tims (just the wheels. no tmps) from someone here.

I still have the useless wheels with the tmps's on them. Can i take those off those wheels and put them on the ones I have just bought? Will it work the same? Will the little tmps warning sign on the car turn off, thanks alot, I need a quick answer.

Yes they will work fine, and you need to put them on the new wheels or you will get the annoying beep you are trying to avoid.

If your trading it in, don't worry about the TPMS.

But yes, if you switch them to the new wheels you just bought, it'll work and light will go off. Although, the light doesn't go off until you drive above 15 mph.

like others said, i wouldnt worry about the tpms if your trading the car in. it wont make a difference in the price.

I would put the TPMS in the new wheels. The new owner would def appreciate it. Good Karma!!!

Oh and when the person installed my TMPS sensors in my aftermarket rims... there wasn't any beeping. He said its because of how he matched how it was aligned on the old wheel, or something like that. It was a long day and i wasnt really listening.
