Exclamation How to change rotors/brakes

IS there any where I can find a step by step on changing the rotors and brake pads myself? Or do you guys think I should let a shop do it... Ive never really messed around on brakes.. but shop is wanting 500$ to install new pads and rotors! THanks for the replies in advance.

there is a DIY section on this forum ( DIY stands for do it yourself) and there is a step-by-step brake thread in there. I following the thread and it is fairly easy to do.

There are also a lot of tricks and techniques when things don't quite move. Would take awhile to writeup everything. Also, you need all the "right" tools.

you can do it with mostly hand tools. the rear brakes were the only part that forced me to search online here to find out how to compress

Depends on if you trust yourself to fool around with your ability to stop the car.

just did this yesterday - 3 hrs to do front rotors + pads all round going at a leisurely pace . $500 sounds like a ripoff .
