Yes, needless to say we won't be making much on it, but someone will get a good deal and we'll get it out of inventory, so it's good for everyone .

HI there would really appreciate if anyone can tell me wat are the differences between hypermax 2 and hypermax performer coilover. I check it thru the website and both are the same price and also found out the Hyper 2 comes with 8/5 or else the performer comes in 8/6. Besides I have no other clue..... if anyone could give an idea that will be great. (ie. which one is newer or better in their own sense.)

I don't have the article in front of me and correct me if I am wrong ok...

It says (if I recalled correctly) that:

People in Japan thinks that single barrel (if it is the right terminology) than the doule barrel (with 2 concentrate tube filled with damper fluid inside):

There are some main point I saw:

Single barrel has better damping force simply because they can be designed bigger. They explained that double barrel only the inner tube is doing the job.

Single barrel is easier for overhaul just because of their simplicity in design

Double barrel however last longer as the torsional force is harder to be affected. They demonstrate in diagram that when a single barrel is hit by a stone from wheel for simple repeated twisting movements that the piston (terminology?) is out of sync with the tube - hence short distance before overhaul

They quoted 5 years or 100000km for single tube - which is pretty good.
or
10 years or 200000km for double tube - which is excellent.

By that time I will change my car anyway if not the suspension - LOL

There is something about heating in those tubes too... I forgot why but single tube is much better.

So they concluded that single tube is great for racing in circuit.

OHOHOH ... people in 24 races in Japan uses double barrel. and only JDC GT cars uses singles....

So for people like me going to Track day/ AutoX, they recomend double tube for the sake of avoiding overhaul - which cost nearly as much as buying a new one.... (at least the salary in Melbourne is too high for the qulified mechanics).

.... what in the 2 page article I have missed - I am sure a lot of that is what I recollect after reading it.

So I am going for double barrel ones... Tein Flex. But I won't against single barrel design - since they are better

THat is a good link Thanks...

Durability of question.. yes it is high quality made and easier for overhauling but it needs overhauling when it bends or has a ding right - that is what Japanese has to say.

Too bad that Australia has no one knows how to do HKS overhauling... Otherwise I will have brought the FEED FM 801 which uses HKS components.

Hmm ...so much about the coilover to choose from. So anyone got any feedback on the new Tein MonoFlex compare to say HKS Hypermax II or performer? As for Taka me too very track oriented when it comes to mod but then again I still need my car to daily usage with occasional track days event. input will be greatly appreciated...
