I just bought a new set of Kuhmo SPTs about 500 miles ago. So far, I like them.

I'd like to get the most life out of them, but not change my driving habits...

I heard someone say that measuring tread wear and adjusting the pressure for a more even wear would extend their useful life. Is this correct? How would I go about this?

I have a digital caliper that I could use to measure tread depth. How often should I measure them? Let's say every 1000 miles. So, if I notice that the center of the tire is wearing faster than the edges, I should let some air out, but how much? if the edges are wearing faster, add some air. Is this correct?

All of this assumes I'm tuning the tire pressure for best wear, not best performance. I drive 30 miles highway and 30 miles side roads each day.

Also, rotate every 5K, sooner, longer?

When do you check tire pressure? Warm or cold? (end of drive or beginning?)

Advice would be appreciated.

the spt has done the work for you.. if you look there are rotation holes and #s... it is easy to gauge by looking at them.

have been rotating every 5k miles.. have 32k miles on them.. they are doing great..

^^ Yep rotation is the trick.

Plus checking tire pressure. Check cold, once a week.
